We came by this place about 2 weeks ago to check it out. As a Vietnamese person who has traveled and loved the motherland’s foods, I am quite big on Vietnamese dishes. The place is very nice and so were the staff. The server we had however took a bit over 20 minutes for our water and our small plates/appetizers came out before the water. We had to wave him down a few times whenever we needed a few things because he would drop off food items then leave right after. We had spring rolls and they were cold and vermicelli noodles inside were hard. The karaage chicken were pretty good and were Taiwanese style and it was cooked perfectly. Wished it came with sauce or seasoning as it was bland. I had ordered pho with some tripes and meatballs and the meats are good. Wished my noodles weren’t overcooked and it was broken apart. The broth, however, was very dark color but tasted bland. There’s northern and southern style pho and it did not taste either or flavor profile. Siracha and hoisin sauce were not provided until 10-15 minutes into the bowl sitting at the table until it was getting warmer. It wasn’t too busy but I understand that they were still working out on their services so we didn’t make any complaints as we did like the staff. My boyfriend’s rice plate came out with a good size piece of steak but no knife was provided until asked at a later time. No fish sauce as it traditionally are to be given at restaurants as well. We thought the rice plate was just okay. I was given a boba drink menu but later was told that they stopped serving boba so I was a bit disappointed that I was given something that I could not order at all. Prices for these food items are set at a good range. There is a good amount of parking so you don’t have to fight over a spot. Wished we got to try their desserts but we will give them a few months before coming back. I hope to see improvements.
Overall, service was 3/5, food was 2/5, price was 4/5, and...
Read moreLet me tell you something—I have lived, and I owe it all to a little slice of culinary heaven called Pho Good Time tucked away in the heart of Charlotte. If you haven’t been, stop reading and GO. This isn’t just food. This is transcendence. This is steam rising from a bowl of pho so fragrant, so soul-stirring, you’ll think you’ve been personally reborn by the broth gods themselves.
But let’s be real. What truly elevates Pho Good Time from “great” to legendary is not just the food—it’s Alejandro.
Who is Alejandro? An experience. A vibe. A revolution in customer service.
From the moment we stepped in, Alejandro greeted us with a warmth that could melt steel. He didn’t just seat us—he welcomed us like we were long-lost friends returning home after years away. His menu recommendations? Flawless. The pho tai? A symphony of umami, spice, and comfort. The bánh mì? Crisp, tangy perfection. And when he suggested the house-made chili oil to “kick things up just a notch”—I saw God.
It’s rare to encounter someone who’s not just doing their job but living their passion. Alejandro was gliding from table to table, making every guest feel like royalty. He remembered names, allergies, preferences—like some kind of hospitality wizard. We’re talking Michelin-level charm wrapped in a local gem.
Halfway through my meal, I turned to my friend and said, “Is this the best service I’ve ever had in my life?” She nodded solemnly, tears in her eyes, cradling her bowl like it was the holy grail.
Pho Good Time isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a love letter to flavor, comfort, and joy—with Alejandro as its beating heart. If you ever find yourself in Charlotte and you don’t stop in, you’ve made a terrible, terrible mistake.
11/10. I would trust Alejandro with my life....
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal experience at Pho Good Time in Charlotte — I am STILL emotionally recovering from how perfect everything was. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Honestly, someone call the Michelin Guide and get this place the recognition it deserves. No, seriously.
Let’s start with the food: from the very first sip of broth, I knew I was in for something transcendent. The pho was rich, aromatic, and layered with flavor like it was handcrafted by the noodle gods themselves. The noodles? Delicate, springy perfection. The beef? Melt-in-your-mouth tender. The portion sizes were generous, but trust me, you’ll want to lick the bowl clean regardless.
But let’s be real — the true star of the show was Alejandro. This man is not just an employee; he is a culinary ambassador, a customer service guru, and possibly an undercover angel. From the moment we walked in, Alejandro made us feel like royalty. He was attentive without being overbearing, knew the menu like the back of his hand, and made spot-on recommendations (get the brisket pho — trust Alejandro with your life). He even checked in on us with the most genuine warmth, like we were long-lost friends reunited over noodles.
Honestly, Alejandro deserves a raise, a trophy, and possibly his own Netflix series.
In short, Pho Good Time lives up to its name and then some. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s a spiritual experience, a warm hug in a bowl, and a testament to what happens when passion meets pho. I will be back. I will bring friends. I will write ballads about this place.
Don’t walk. RUN. And tell...
