At the Shake Shack, you go up and order at the counter. In turn you’re given a buzzer with your order number, and when it goes off, you pick up your food at the kitchen bar. I absolutely love this process, because it makes it easier to grab a table during busy hours and your order is immediately processed instead of waiting to be seated, waiting for your server to get to you, ask your order, and put it in when they get to it. The kitchen bar has a wide open area behind the bar, so you can see the food being made, which was super cool to watch! Ordered the chicken nuggets, the smokestack burger, the salted caramels shake, cheese fries and bacon cheese fries with my boyfriend, and our food was delicious!!! We definitely appreciate the lengths this place goes to to be ecologically friendly: our honey mustard containers were recyclable and the condiment itself was made with 100% cage free eggs, every other container was made with recycled/recyclable paper, our wooden table was crafted with recycled wood from New York bowling lanes, and more! There is an added bonus of Game of Thrones cups that are top-rack dishwasher safe to take home!! Another bonus: grab a booth on the right-hand side of this location, and there is a charging port alongside USB ports for easily accessible device charging! Extra extra bonus: for those who love sparkling water like we do, they do actually have legit sparkling water!!! We loved the Shake Stack, and this was a great first time experience here! Can’t wait to return! This might even be our go-to place for a quick bite!...
Read moreThere's literally nothing special about this food. You can say the beef is grass-fed, but they over cook it. Further, it has no special taste to make it unique. If I go to Burger King, and I bite into their burger, I know the flavor, because it doesn't taste like Wendy's or any other burger. Here, you can order fries with your burger pr hot dog, which look like Walmart's Great Value brand crinkle cut fries. They have no unique seasoning or flavor of any kind. They are cheap and not worth even adding it as a side. The cost for the fries should be something like $0.50. If I was blindfolded, and somebody put a Bojangles french fry in my mouth, I would know it. Same goes for Burger King, Wendy's, and McDonald's. If I'm going into a restaurant where I am going to order and sit down, I'm not expecting to think the fries came from a Walmart freezer section and were simply dipped in hot oil until ready. They lack condiments that belong in the South, also. Their hot dogs are supposedly 100% beef, and I attest that they taste like good beef dogs. However, they are literally tiny in comparison to any place I can think of where you would go in and order and sit down for a hot dog. There is nothing special here. I don't know what reason would draw me to come back again. The shakes are good, but not THAT good to make the drive out to get one. There are better shakes at CookOut restaurants. The burger buns are really cheap. I can't leave that out. I don't recommend this...
Read moreI heard so many great things about Shake Shack that I thought it was going to be a great experience. Unfortunately, I was completely underwhelmed.
To begin, the staff that took my order was not friendly at all. They made me feel like I inconvenienced them for asking questions. There were some other staff members that were friendly so not everyone was unfriendly, but the ones that were most unhelpful should be the ones who help the most.
I was also disappointed that there was no kids menu. I don't need to order an adult sized meal for a toddler.
The burger that I did order was good, but for over $5 I was expecting something larger or something that would merit the increased price. It is very small for the cost. Additionally, you have to purchase fries and drinks on the side. The burger was good, but the fries are not good...at all! This is disappointing when you factor in that fries are $3. The fries taste like they are frozen and, after doing some research, I found that they freeze their fries...and it tasted like frozen fries.
The bottom line: the burger was good, but the prices are too high and the quality and size of the food do not merit the increased costs. There are too many competitors out there who have patty melts that are just as good but are at a fraction of the price. A better alternative would be to check out Freddy's on 521. They have really great food at...
