First off the restaurant is beautiful. I love the upgrades and the vibe. It was very classy and a total change from when they first opened. I loved to see the growth of this place it is beautiful! The food was also amazing I had the oxtails and grits & tasted the hot honey wings. The wings were amazing and small which I prefer. I also had a cucumber mojito mock tail tht was really good, not super sweet so they did a good job. Now the reason I gave them 2 stars is because the service was trash from the hostess stand to the server and service. The service can make or break a restaurant as we know. So let me share my experience...
When I arrived I asked for my reservation (11/10 @ 12:15), the hostess told me "my party was on the other side of the bar" while pointing, not giving direction, making eye contact or again seeming to care. It's extremely dark in there so it's a bit difficult to see but eventually I found my table with no help of the hostess. Okay cool.
Shortly after I sat down I decided on a drink, a virgin cucumber mojito& other drinks were ordered as well . All the drinks came at the same time except mine. After taneshia came to the table twice without mentioning my drink I finally asked about it (this is about 25 mins after ordering my drink) her response was "oh they don't know how to make a virgin mojito". I don't appreciate the fact she lied about it, when in reality she forgot to put it in. Again she wasn't writing anything down. I would have preferred she told the truth. So as I'm waiting on my drink our food finally comes. When our food came I ordered hot honey wings which she said I couldn't order to-go bc they were on the special. okay cool. The wings were so good I wanted to eat them there anyway. When I asked about the drink again she says they are still trying to figure it out. Okay cool.
My drink finally shows up as she's headed to take another table drinks. At this point we were trying to get things from Tanesha but she is walking around swinging her hair and not paying us any attention. She would come by & ask us if we wanted anything and before anyone could respond she would walk off. Or give us a look as if she was annoyed tht we even asked her anything. Finally we're all done eating. Plates we barley taken off the table and we had so many cups on the table it was ridiculous.
As we are wrapping up one of the ladies asked for shots for the table & the wings I ordered. As we're waiting the food, shots and our checks a hostess walks up to the table and tells us we have to move bc the next party is here. However, the only reason we are still at the table Is because we are waiting on Tanisha's to bring everything?! So I was confused as to how we were being rushed and were waiting on them?
Finally, I got my check it was wrong. My friends check was wrong. I ordered hot honey wings to eat in and Tanisha brought me lemon pepper to-go after she said she couldn't and again it wasn't the flavor I asked for. I'm assuming she didn't check the wings or just handed me whtever so we could go. My friend ordered shots for the table, Tanisha brought 2 shots instead of 6 like requested. But we all let it go bc at tht point we were over it. Because she continued to show us she did not care. So bet .
Over all taneshia, I think is her name, did a terrible job. Every person at that table has served tables before in similar places or fancier so we understand the hustle and bustle but her service was trash. I don't think anyone left an extra tip bc of tht. Tht says a lot bc as a group we always try to leave an exceptional tip & go above and beyond bc we have worked that position and always try to be appreciative. But how we were serviced was unacceptable from a place of this caliber.
But I would recommend anybody to try this place out, again the food is amazing. The music and vibe is grown and sexy. But tht service is trash so Just sit at the bar lol but again...
Read moreLet me start by saying I have supported this place for over 2 years. A good friend of mine used to host the R&B night they hold every Wednesday evening. My sisters & I would show up, eat, drink and be merry. Once my friend stepped away from the hosting position I no longer frequented them every week. They have recently upgraded the inside & the outside patio and it looks amazing, but along with the upgrades I believe they have gotten a little "boogie". 3 weeks ago we went to celebrate our other friend who is now the host of the R&B Wednesday nights & we were treated a little different than usual. First stop at the door, we were told no umbrellas are allowed inside. It's raining out what do you mean. The guy tells us we can take them back to the car & walk back in the rain with NO umbrella or we can leave them in the mulch in front of the business, I looked at my sister & we just took our chance leaving them In the mulch. We are regulars so everyone pretty much knows who we are. We usually get a particular seat but when we arrived that day someone was sitting in our normal seating. So we stepped to the side after she told us the wait would be 45 minutes. There is no seating in the front for waiting, so no worries we waited (in heels let me add.) after about 45 minuets I walked back to the front desk & asked how much longer just to be told we never got on the waiting list. I just smiled. I said well the people who were sitting at our regular seat are now gone so can we just sit there she said yes and within a few minutes we were seated. I was a little turned off but ok we still enjoyed the food live music & drinks. At the end of the night luckily our umbrellas were still there. Cool. Being that we had to wait around in heels and there's no where to sit while waiting almost an hour, our next trip we planned to just walk up to the door in flats small enough to fit in the purse and put the heels in once we were inside. At the door the guy sees me carrying my heels but I had on flats. He said you can't bring those in here we have a rule no one can have two pair of shoes. My sister said what? Where is this posted? She just needs to step in off the gravel and put the heels on. He says I cannot put them in my purse. Strange. Flat shoes aren't a deadly weapon but ok! So instead of walking far, risking falling on the gravel I just told my sister I was going home. It was super packed, our friend/the new host was having her birthday celebration so there weren't any available close parking spots so i had to park farther than usual on a curb. My sister also told the man I had a medical reason but they still didn't budge. This is a restaurant from my knowledge. Not a club, not a place that charges a membership so I'm super confused on all the crazy stipulations. I understand businesses have rules, l'm a business owner of 22 years myself. But it's no where posted saying these things. If you are going to deny umbrellas &!flat shoes for women, you need to have a coat check, if you will, that people can store their extra shoes, coats and umbrellas!! Next thing you know they will be banning coats in the middle of winter. Im highly disappointed due to being a regular customer of this establishment. I was even defending them on social media just last week because a lot of people had not so great things to say about this place, most of the complaints were about security and their bad attitudes & rudeness, but...
Read moreA girlfriend and I went on a Thursday (9/25/25) evening, arrival just after 5, 5:10 to be exact. The security guard was friendly and personable. The young lady (hostess) that seated us did not speak, she only asked “y’all ordering to go, trying to go the bar or what?”. We replied that we would like a booth to order food. She sat us and walked away. We scanned the QR code to review the menu and kinda get some ideas. Neither of us had eaten here before, so we figured we’d ask for our server’s opinion. The same hostess that seated us walked by twice and not once asked if we had been helped or gave an acknowledgment that someone would be with us shortly.
We were the only customers at a table on the side closest to the entrance. The bar area contained more customers, but there seemed to be adequate bar staff attending to those guests. The music was good, moderately loud, but not overwhelming at all. We decided to wait until 5:30 to see if someone would come to our table, if not, we wouldn’t make a big deal, we’d just leave.
Belle was walking by just as we were about to leave, she asked if we had been helped. We said that we had not. She preceded to apologize and then gave an overview of the menu and drink special. After taking our order, she returned with ice water and gave us approximate food/drink arrival times. The drinks came within 5 minutes. The food arrived within 10 minutes. The pasta and crab cakes were delicious and the drinks were perfect. Belle was very kind, professional, thorough, and a solid 10/10 server. We made sure to tip on top of the added gratuity, simply because she deserved it.
I think the food, drinks, and overall vibe are definitely worthy of a recommendation to someone else wanting good food and a lounge setting. I don’t think I would return. It seems that there have many multiple service complaints and even if not done intentionally, management may need to focus on improving the customer’s experience. I understand it was not the hostess’ job to offer water or to engage once she sat us…. but it definitely would have helped the team and the customer. It literally would have cost her nothing to have a more friendly attitude and/or to just acknowledge our wait. It’s reasonable that things are going on behind the scenes, but to not say anything leaves an impression that’s hard to want to revisit.
Lastly, I would recommend that the staff photographer explain the cost upfront. She was kind, a bit intrusive as we were trying to eat but we gave grace and wanted to be supportive of her just doing her job. The pictures were good quality but $20 for 1photo AND no package deals for purchasing more than 1 picture at a time where most people have decent phone cameras was moreso wasteful printing in my opinion. This was a basic photo of us sitting…plain dark background. We purchased 1 but did share with her that we would have purchased a 2nd one if there had...
