Where do I start? It was my birthday on July 19th, and I wanted a tres leches cake for it, so I did my research and found this place. (FYI, they require orders for cakes at least one week in advance but can make accommodations if you need it sooner.) Anyways, I ordered it and brought it home. As soon as I sliced into the cake, I already knew it was going to be good.
When I took the first bite, let me tell you, it was single-handedly the best tres leches cake I have ever had in my life. It was rich, creamy, decadent, moist—everything you could want in a tres leches cake. It’s the kind of cake you have to lock up in a safe because every bite leaves you craving more. It was sweet but not overly so, striking the perfect balance—at least for me.
I ended up paying $68.58 with taxes included. Some may think this is too much for a cake (like my mom), but at the end of the day, when it comes to cakes, I'd rather pay almost $70 for a high-quality cake and be satisfied than $20 for a low-quality one and be unsatisfied.
P.S. I also got some miscellaneous items like their Oreo cookie, cinnamon coffee cake, and chocolate chip cookie with a chocolate bar in the middle. That cookie was insanely good; it easily ranks as the second best cookie I've ever had in my life—10/10 (I'm not even going to lie, if I had more of the Chocolate chip cookies, I would've eaten them all that night 😭😭). The Oreo cookie was a little too sweet for me—7/10, but the cinnamon coffee cake was good too—8/10.
Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be doing business with them...
Read moreTried to set up a large order with this bakery since my office just moved into the neighborhood and I thought it would be a fun treat for staff. Unfortunately, their customer service is ABYSMAL…..which is starting to feel typical for these cutesy Charlotte area businesses. I followed their process for placing an order, received an email letting me know I could choose from four flavors for the cookie jar unless I wanted “dealers choice” which is where the bakery chooses the flavors. That didn’t seem correct but the catering contact didn’t leave a number so I called to ask a few follow up questions. The girl on the phone was beyond rude so, rather than snap back at her, I let her get it out of her system. Then, when I let her know that I would just follow up via email as that’s their stated preference instead of saying thank you, have a nice day, anything like that, she just abruptly hung up in my ear. I’m honestly considering calling back to just cancel the order because I don’t trust a bakery where the staff is that rude. I’ve been to other bakeries in the Charlotte area with staff that is just much nicer, much friendlier, and far more professional; I’d rather give them the business...
Read moreI wish a took a pic of the food but ate it too quick. It's that good. I love finding new spots around Charlotte and someone mentioned this place to me. I got an oatmeal cream pie and a chocolate peanut butter brownie. I started with the cookie, it was amazing. The next day I ate the brownie. Honestly probably the best brownie I've ever had. The brownie was thick, dense, fudgy in the middle with a flakey top and had a great balance of chocolate and peanut butter. The girl working the counter was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Couldn't be happier. I'll be back for sure.
On a side note, to the person who gave a 3 star review, I think your reasoning for giving a 3 star review is unfair. You're upset because a place is popular and sold out of their product that is made fresh daily. It's your own fault. Don't go online and try to hurt a business because of your poor planning. Having to wait an hour for your treats because a business is popular and has a lot of customers is not a fault of theirs. I hope you're having a better day today than the day you wrote your review and attempted to hurt this fine...
