Do not support this business if you are Muslim or if you are morally opposed to bigotry.
My husband and I (hijabi) walked into the restaurant where we were ignored for several minutes by the hostess. She refused to even look up until another party (of non-Muslims) walked in behind us. As the other party walked in, she immediately looked up to greet them and take their name. They seemed just as confused as my husband and I were, as they were clearly in line behind us. I politely spoke up and let the hostess know we were here for our reservation.
The hostess walked us to our table where we sat for a minute before a server came and dropped off a container of water. After filling our cups, he told us to “have a good rest of our night.” I found this odd because that is typically what you say at the end of the meal, but I just assumed maybe he was passing us off to a different server.
I was wrong. My husband and I sat there for 45 minutes without anyone coming to take our order- not for tea, appetizers, or entrees. We did not want to assume the worse. After all, it was Valentine’s Day, so the restaurant was busy. However, after watching 3 separate (non-Muslim) parties come in after us and receive prompt service, our suspicions were confirmed.
After 45 minutes of watching servers glance at us then swerve quickly in the opposite direction, we decided to get up and leave without having spoken to anyone. On the way out, the hostess gave us a curt “have a great night”, though it was obvious we had not been served.
The entire situation was incredibly disappointing. My husband and I were stunned that, in the year 2025, a business would treat their customers so poorly due to hijab. It is shameful that you would let a simple piece of fabric turn you into an oppressor.
We ended up placing a pickup order from Biryani Pot by Concord Mills. Their food is always phenomenal, and they do not let religious tensions impact their...
Read moreI would like to explain about service first, Fully ridiculous, I went there first time hoping i will enjoy the dinner & i was very happy that day so i want to celebrate the dinner, But the experience was really bad not only for me there was other customers also very disappointed, one of the indian guys who was serving he was totally idiot, does not have single bit of manners, and he pitch was really loud, disrespectful & very disturbing, Taking very long time to come to take order & very long time to serve the order, I had to go to desk to ask them why you guys are not serving today is your service is always poor or today is special day for bad service, same thing was happening two other customers. and the serving guy he is completely idiot he seems to be more interested just to explaining the ingredients rather than serving the people & frankly and truly speaking he was behaving really bad with all of the customers i do not how the restaurant can employ this kind of mannerless person, One of the girl their i asked her just a small thing but she went to the same guy and the same idiot guy came to me & told us she does not uderstand Englisy because she is Spanish i was surprised if she dost not know than how she is communicating with indian staff their who does not Spanish at all but English & Hindi only wow completely ridiculous. Friends frankly speaking do not waste your time & money to just get mad you will not find their anything except disrespect, & you will think why i came here. So finally I would like to say that my & other people who was there at that moment experience was really bad, i dont understand how the serving staff can misbehave there is no reason to do that.......one ridiculous, idiot, mannerless, shouting serving guy is messing up the whole restaurant .....This is an excellent example how one mad member of staff can bring down the reputation of a...
Read moreYou will leave feeling blue and, a little green. We paid a whopping $13 for an appetizer, The Tandoori Taste Platter, which consisted of two small shrimp, two bite sized pieces of chicken, and two bite sized portions of "lamb." The prawns were rubbery and a little fishy. You could not even cut them with the edge of your fork. The chicken was dry and flavorless, completely dehydrated, and the lamb was undetectable as lamb. It had none of the distinct lamb flavor and, instead tasted like overboiled beef. Nothing tasted fresh during the meal except for the naan, which was ruined by a hint of fishiness here or there which, I hope doesn't mean it was being handled after handling seafood but, I would not be surprised. The main entrèes we ordered were Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry. Two soup bowls were brought to the table with chunks of meat in them and a plate of rice. Again, my lamb was so dry and void of flavor, it could have very well been beef. None of that wonderful gamey lamb flavor, no taste of fatty acids, just bland meat covered in a spicy coconut curry. The coconut flavor was detectable but, barely. The chicken Tikka masala was the same story, different meat. I dont know if this was pre-made days ago or if it comes in frozen but, the chicken was dry, void of juiciness, so disappointing. But for about 4 more dollars than the appetizer, you at least get a full plate, too bad we left most of it in the bowls. I can only imagine people are coming here because there is no other "mid-upper" scale Indian restaurant in the area but, it is completely not worth it. We were up for hours with nausea and stomach cramps. Do yourself a favor and look up a nice recipe on the internet, buy fresh ingredients, and cook for yourself at home. To their credit, the fried banana dessert was edible and, the best thing we tasted, besides...
