Woodshed Bar — Restaurant in Charlotte

Hmmm... how many stars to give? If I judged by the way the staff and other customers treat me, would have to be a five. To review based on the appearance (and smell) of the place, no more than two...

The people here are why we come to the 'Shed. They don't seem to mind that the inside still reeks of stale cigarettes from way back when smoking was allowed. But the restrooms? OMG, disgusting. Pray you never have to do a number two in this place.

To call it a "leather" bar is rather odd when only about once night a month are leather folk out en masse. OK, there will be the occasional person decked out, but hey, not even San Francisco or New York have leather bars anymore.

So, I landed on 4 stars because I enjoy myself here. Fortunately I have a large bladder capacity and am also thankful there's an expansive outdoor space for some fresh air. It's really close to the airport, and very welcoming of out of towners... But seriously... spend a few bucks and update...

Karaoke Sunday and Tuesday

Here visiting for a month as of November… just leaving this location after reviewing for 3 weeks and I can say that the karaoke Dj Quinton cherry picks: if it has anything to do with a tip or just for him to do a duet with others he will skip to get his moment of shine… I’ve been going to karaoke shows all over the US and I can tell you first hand the Dj can start off the rotation if they choose but not sing again until they are kicking off the new one… they Dj just as of this date had me to close out the rotation then he would start the new one (mind you I was number 5 in the beginning and you gotta put singers in the middle of all the originals but me at the end and you still went before me is crazy and when I called him out on it he tried to put me up after and I’m sorry it’s the principle of equality and from a bar that supports marginalized ppl I think fairness should be the top 3 with customer...

One of the most welcoming, friendly and fun bars I have ever been to in Charlotte as they treat you like family whether you are a first timer or a long timer. Note that we are an interracial straight couple and at no time did we feel like we weren't welcome, as many of the regulars engaged with us and encouraged us during karaoke and we felt like we were among old friends even though we hadn't been there in over a year.

It is so refreshing to go to a bar where you can kick back and have fun without being judged or worrying about someone hitting on your significant other if you leave them alone for one second.

Great drink specials, awesome staff, overall amazing vibe and the best karaoke in Charlotte as you are guaranteed to have a blast whether you are gay, straight, single, coupled, as this place will welcome you with open arms and friendly smiles, so definitely check them out as it may just be the best kept secret...
