Let me start by saying we have stayed in MANY Marriot and Choice Privileges hotels. My husband travels for work, so we have a lot of experience with hotels, travels, and spend a lot of time and money in hotels. This hotel was a hotel we booked JUST to sleep in to fly out bright and early in the morning. Between 10 pm and 6 am our vehicle was 1 of 16 (I'm going to be specific here and go off the police report and not what was told to use by the front desk) vehicle broken into. Our window was busted out along with 16, or maybe 18, other vehicles, and every nook and cranny of the vehicle was rummaged through. Let that sink in. 16. At 2:30 am police came to the property and wrote a police report on 16 victims. NONE of us were notified. Fast forward to 4 hours later, we wake up to head to the airport and see our window, along with many many other vehicles with their windows busted out. We got ZERO notice from the hotel and all we were told in that moment was they knew, it was 18 vehicles, and they had a card with the case number on it.||||Fast forward to 2 days later. The hotel manager, at our request, calls us. Calls my husband a liar when he tells the manager that we were provided the police report and know that there were 16 cars and what all was stolen. My husband then calls me so I can provide details directly from thw report in which case the response from the manager was that we never should have received that information.....Well, buddy, we were. And as you can see, we are NOT liars. I now want to know WHY we were not notified before waking up to this disaster, HOW someone had enough time and was not noticed on the camera or HEARD, to break into SIXTEEN vehicles at night when we personally were parked right under a camera and even the vehicles in the front of the hotel were broken into. The manager had ZERO sympathies, said it could have happened anywhere, "a mall, a store, at the airport." and that he didn't have to answer any of our questions and his people didn't have access to the cameras at night.||||SO, beware. The night people aren't aware of what's going on at their hotel. They're so occupied and SO SO BUSY at night that the front desk person NOR the shuttle person is aware when there are people in their lots breaking into vehicles without any rush. Also, understand that when this happens to you, it could happen anywhere, and the hotel manager is NOT going to care. He is NOT going to refund you points, or money, for your stay, and he is NOT going to give you any sympathy for the situation that happens at his MARRIOTT hotel. Someone should transfer him to the Super 8 down the road, because that's the type of attitude he has when dealing with the very people who help provide him a salary.||||The police should investigate him, along with his employees. Because if you ask me, someone turned a blind eye OR Marriott needs to fire them because they were oblivious to what was happening ALL OVER THEIR PARKING LOT.||||We won't let this go. Just so you know. And I will tell everyone, everywhere, on every single platform that I can.||||Oh, let me complete the review by saying the hotel is nice, clean, but don't plan on staying long, if you were smart, don't stay at all, but if you don't take my word for it, if you stay longer than 1 night, there is no dresser nor closet to hang your clothes....so live out of your suitcase, and leave your doors unlocked and windows rolled down so the damage to your vehicle...

Read moreWe arrived at a little after midnight to get some rest before some of our family took an early morning flight from CLT. The shuttle was completely booked except for the time slot we requested. We got the shuttle but the full booking makes me nervous staying here in the future as we possibly could have to hire an airport shuttle service if everything is booked up. I think a larger shuttle bus is warranted so more folks can go each trip.
The other comments are as follows:
The staff was the best part of this hotel. The night manager tried to help us.
However the problems were as follows:
The interconnecting door between our two rooms locks even when you unlock the dead bolt. Our family was all in one room and the interconnecting door shut and would not allow itself to be pushed open.
The tool that removes the safety mechanism latching the bolt on the door was locked up. When the interconnecting door shut us out, we had the outside door latched with the safety mechanism and could not open it. The tool that takes care of this was locked up without staff access.
I was able to take some paper and get the safety mechanism to peel back and allow us to re-access the room. When I tried to show my wife what I did, I could not replicate the feat. It was 1/1000 and God was with me to get us back in the room.
The only QQ rooms with interconnecting door are handicapped access.
I called the properly to confirm our rooms were blocked with interconnecting door. The staff member explained that there was an ADA request and our block was removed. Because I called, I got two more rooms blocked out with interconnecting door. It was a K, QQ combination. This worked for me this time but there may be a future time when this does not work.
There were no extra towels in my room. I make this request and it is never accommodated.
In the midst of all the issues that I had with the room, we were not offered any compensation such as free breakfast, additional reward points, or a reduction in the room cost. I was taking some of my family to CLT to catch a plane early on Saturday a.m. and the room that locked us out was only used for about three hours after the lockout incident.
There was an alarm on the bottom floor near the back entrance. Why could this not be turned off? I was on floor three. If I were on floor one, I doubt I would be able to sleep.
I question why I want to continue pursuing platinum status...
