Very disappointed in recent visit, particularly the food and its amount and quality. I’ve visited this establishment many times over the past few years mainly dine in and it’s always been a hit (except for maybe one or two times for take out). I had the number one, snow crabs and shrimp, added the sausage and got extra corn to sub the egg, mixed flavor with medium heat. I only received one cluster of crab legs and that’s never happened before, and the cluster didn’t even have a lot of legs on it, furthermore, it was old. The whole boil was old, like everything had been sitting for an extended time in flavoring because most of it was black from the heavy seasoning that you can’t really taste. The legs and most of the shrimp were black from seasoning, it was old, so was the sausage, all the corn was old bc it was overcooked, and even the potatoes, one actually just fell apart bc it had been cooking that long, again, old and not fresh. The seasoning and heat index is not what it used to be, similar to what other reviews mentioned. I don’t even see or taste the garlic pieces at the bottom of the bag nor did I taste the Cajun, lemon, butter, anything, just an oily concoction like someone else mentioned. Not only was the food not fresh, the portions were smaller than before, I usually have leftovers and can eat some the next day, wasn’t the case. It’s extremely disappointing to not have the same taste, good portion sizes, and quality as before while having to pay even higher prices. It isn’t a cheap meal and so a fresh, quality and tasty meal is to be expected. This is not the yummy crab I know and love. It’s unfortunate that I have to find a new seafood place because this isn’t it.
Update: I visited again a week later just to compare. Even worse, got jipped. Only One tiny, very OLD, dark crab cluster (pictured). Actually combined crab legs from two different clusters to make one, I’m certain that’s not equivalent to 1lb (have Always received 2 clusters before). The food isn’t fresh, particularly take out. Seasoning is still not what it used to be. Not worth the money,...
Read moreThis is Harriett Little posting this review. I regret giving a 1Star, because the food is good here. Giving it a 1 is from my last 2 experiences. On Sunday November 29th I ordered a Crazy Seafood Combo (#2 $38.00 per the menu.) The bill total $43.00. I thought $4 tax + were very high. Today Dec 1st We ordered 2 fried shrimp baskets $11.00 each per the menu. I took my menu with me this time. It rang up $25+. I asked if the baskets are $11 each...WHY IS IT $25? The young guy ringing up my order sd OH, its $12.. I sd not according to the menu. I sd "maybe I have a old menu.. he sd YES. So, I picked up 1 of the menus beside the registers. I told him this 1 is listing the price $11 also. He sd yes but, the price has changed. I sd OK, BUT, I'm going to pay $11.00 the price on the menus. He looked thru several menus stacked on the counter, SAME PRICE He sd they put out the wrong menus. I sd let me speak with a Manager.. He sd I am the manager. I asked him " Do you know that the customer pays the price you advertise? He sd yes, but you have to pay $11. Then he called a lady from the back TOLD her what had happen & that the wrong menus had been put out... She said, YES they're in the back. I asked her will she go get me one from the back.. she stayed back there longer than I thought it would have taken her to pick up 1 menu. I told the young man that said he was the manager I would pay the $4, but since we've been debating so long tell her to fix me a hot order. Then the lady decided she would charge me the price on the menu$11. She didn't know how to change the amount in the register... I suggested she void that order and ring another order up at $11. I know this is lengthy, but just think how many people have eaten up there lately and THOUGHT they were paying the price on the menu THINK ABOUT...
Read moreI'm giving the yummy crab on Tyvola 2 out of 5 Stars due to the unfortunate experience that we have had with them. Last Sunday I was there placing an order to go after receiving my food I asked the cashier if the food was correct he said it was. And I took him for his word. Plus gave a generous tip. When i returned home the order was incomplete. I immediately called regarding the missing food item. I was told that I can return to pick up the food item that was missed and no refunds, however I live on the other side of town so I was not going to be able to do that. The owner called back and took my information. The food was delicious. So a few days later we decided to call and give them another try and to pick up the missing food item and placed a NEW order. However and unfortunately again we were very disappointed when we were charged for another food item that we did not order! We were over charged. The missing food item was taken off however ANOTHER item that we did not order was added and charged. Once again I made a phone call to the business and I was told to bring the food back for a refund (mind you NO REFUNDS) and it clearly stated at their establishment that there were no refunds, I was also told that over the phone. And when I spoke to the establishment I was told that we should have checked our food before we left and it was posted everywhere advising customers to check their food, and again no refunds which was rudely stated over the phone.
First and foremost I recommend that if you do order from this establishment that you check your order and your food before you leave...
