I recently visited the new location of Curry Gate and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout my meal.
But what really stole the show for me was the food. The menu at Curry Gate is full of delicious options, but I have to give a special shout-out to the butter chicken. It was simply amazing! The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and tender. The restaurant offers a range of spice levels to accommodate different tastes, from level 1 (mild) to level 10 (extra hot), so you can customize your meal to your liking. The butter chicken I had was perfectly spiced, with just the right amount of heat.
In addition to the butter chicken, I tried a few other dishes and they were all equally delicious. The naan bread was warm and fluffy, and the chili garlic flavor was a delightful twist. I also appreciated that the portion sizes were generous, making it a great value for the price.
Overall, I highly recommend Curry Gate to anyone who is looking for a delicious and satisfying meal. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking to try something new, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. And if you do go, make sure to try the butter chicken - it's...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I visited Curry Gate on South yesterday for the first time and we were so impressed. The food was delicious! We've been hearing great things for years about their flagshIp restaurant and we're so glad we finally made the trip.
We had the Makhani Dal (butter lentil) and the Chicken Curry with lot's of Naan. It was absolutely phenomenal. The gravy was a perfect consistency, full of flavor, and paired so nicely with the rice and bread.
Puja was a great server and she recommended a 4 spice level which was the perfect amount for both of us. We like spice, but there is a fine line where it becomes too much. This was incredible.
I love Indian food and I have been searching for this place since I moved to Charlotte in 2018. My boyfriend said it's now one of his favorite restaurants here. If you like Indian food, Curry Gate of South is not to be missed! Chef's kiss!
From some of the other recent reviews, I found the Naan to be top notch. It was slightly crispy and fluffy at the same time. I thought it was fabulous. Food quality was awesome, all fresh and not frozen. The kitchen was popping the entire time cranking out a constant stream of online and pick up orders. Our food came out quickly and the servers were attentive....
Read moreWatching too much food network inspired me to have a craving for Indian cuisine. I found this place online but accidentally ended up driving to their downtown location. It appeared the wait would be long, so I traveled back to the South blvd location to retrieve my food. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I chose a #4 spice level and although the number sounds low on the scale there was a perfect amount of heat for my liking. The garlic naan was a bit then and hard to chew. That would be my only critique. I would've loved to enjoy a fluffy soft piece of naan with this delicious meal. Needless to say, I am going back again tonight (4 days later). I hope to have an even better experience.
UPDATE: Since writing this review I have returned to this place 3xs! So, a total of 4xs within a week and a 1/2. The first time must’ve just been a one off with the naan because every time since it has been soft, fluffy and flavorful. One of my new favorites is the biryani with lamb, i’ve had the coconut curry and tika masala, curry soup (not my fav) & samosas. This is for sure my go to when I have my craving for...
