This location (5th Street) could absolutely win an award, but only for the worst service in Charlottesville. I tried to go through the drive through this evening about 8:30 and found it closed. I sat outside for about ten minutes answering an email that was received as I drove around. Two people went inside the entire time I was sitting there. When I walked up to the counter there was no one there to greet me. The only person that seemed to be working was filling orders. The person standing directly next to the drive through window EATING pointed at me after about 45 seconds. Shortly before that, the most aloof manager Iâve ever seen walked by and disappeared into a nook next to the drive through as well, never acknowledging me. When the cashier came over, she told me that the drive through was closed because they were understaffed. I was one of two people in the building, the manager walked past me without acknowledging my presence, and there was someone eating in the kitchen, directly next to the drive through window. Were they understaffed? Yes; thatâs what happens when only one person in your entire staff works. If this was the first time something like this had happened I wouldnât have said anything. But, sadly this is more the norm than the exception. I care more about competent people who want to do their job than I do about the interior of the restaurant, which you just spent a ton of money upgrading. Whatâs the point if there is no one to see it because your service is horrendous, even for a fast food restaurant. Maybe spend some money on staff that at least cares. If they try hard, Iâm ok if things arenât perfect. I have no patience when people have the type of attitude thatâs incredibly prevalent at this location. I left without ordering and wonât be back. I tried to raise these issues with corporate and got no response so Iâm now just warning people to stay away. There is no one associated with this location that cares: not corporate, not the owners, and certainly not the employees. If you donât believe me, read the...
Read moreNever before have we witnessed child abuse at a fastfood place. But today we did. Went to the drive thru to get a whopper with no cheese no mayo & chicken fries. Pulled up to the window & had to wait for the food, no big deal. Husband complimented the dude who was workings memorial necklace. Had to pull around while the food finished. Food was brought out to us in parking lot, but burger had cheese. Again, no big deal - husband went in to return the cheesy burger and get the burger he ordered. Upon entering the restaurant, one of the employees family members/kids who was in the closed dining area said "Ooohhh there he is!"
An employee (who was not wearing his uniform, by the way, or at least had it completely covered with a hoodie) walked up to the kid and slapped him hard. My husband then asked for a burger with no cheese as he had ordered. They got an attitude and refused to give him a proper burger, saying "we already put da food up." This was at 7:30ish-pm. The employees had to "talk about it" while my husband waited. He ended up just getting a refund.
Yeah, screw this place. Plenty of other burger joints in cville. Reporting the...
