Lucky's Cheesesteak & Sub Shop — Restaurant in Charlottesville

Today, I visit this place for the first time. The menu is small but the food looked interesting. I ordered the Hollywood Bowl and asked the waiter to remove the corn and roasted tomatoes. They brought me back a lukewarm bowl without my lime juice, cilantro, avocado, and jalapeño. When I asked the waitress if I could receive the items missing, she goes on to make a smart remark. " I'm so sorry, you asked for so many items to be removed. We forgot the other ones." Mind you I only asked for two items to be removed because I couldn't eat those things. I ended up returning the bowl because it was nasty. I ordered the nachos and they were alright. They forgot the green onions, but whatever at this point. When my bills come out, the waitress doesn't charge me for the nachos. Instead she charges me for the bowl that I did not eat. I called her over and asked her why was I being charged for the bowl, when I did not eat it and not charged for the nachos. Mind you the bowl was more expensive than the nachos. I wouldn't have mind paying for the bowl, but I did not eat it. I ate the nachos. Anyway, the waitress responds by saying they have to charge me for the bowl because I did not order the original bowl. I removed some food items. I’ve loved coming here for a while since it opened. However, the service here can be very nasty and unprofessional from Drew. The bartenders lost my credit card. They looked for it for a while and concluded they couldn’t find it. After 10 min, they found it. I asked where it was. Drew (who wasn’t responsible but handled it very poorly) said, “why’s it matter? We found your card” he smugly continued with ambiguous answers on where it actually was. I told the him I didn’t think it was funny that they lost my card and he continued to tell me to calm down when I wasn’t raising my voice. He then accused me of not tipping them when I still gave a $10 tip. He offered me a shot which I wasn’t interested in. Although I told him it was a nice gesture, I didn’t feel the need to continue drinking. He responded by flicking me off and walking away. A simple apology would suffice when they found my card but instead I was told to calm down and was flicked off. Don’t expect any personable or kind service...

I visited for the first time today and tried the Citizen Bowl. The experience was just ok. I feel that for the price, they skimp quite a bit on the ingredients (such as a small amount of protein and one small slice of Avocado). Someone warned me about this before hand so I made sure to add Power Greens to the bowl for an extra dollar. The dish overall just wasn't very flavorful and the portion size seemed sort of small. Citizen Bowl also has very odd hours for a restaurant in such a prime location. They're only open for 4 hours a day, close at 3 and not open on Sundays which is why it took me so long to visit for the first time.
