Bean Curd — Restaurant in Chatham

Solid Chinese American standbys. Was a tough road taking over from a local, beloved, family business; the first year was fraught with missteps, but now they are delivering. Egg rolls, wontons, noodles and fried rice are very good. Better than before. Kung Pao vastly improved. Sesame chicken has been spot on every time. I trust the owners will continue to emphasize quality ingredients. It makes a huge difference and it shows. I will also add that the young ladies managing the front of the house are delightful and sincere in offering attentive service. Thank you! So glad we tried Bean Curd after new owners have taken over. We have ordered out at least 4 times in the last 2 months and it has been consistently very good! We used to go to China Chalet in Florham Park, but after a bad food experience a year ago we just can not return. Then we tried a place in Berkeley Heights. It was just ok, but we hadn’t found anything better until we gave the Bean Curd a shot. So glad we did!! Everyone should try it.

My only advice to the new owners would be to change the tablecloths and get new carpeting or put in a different type...

Have been going here for years. It has gone down hill since new owners. We were the only ones in the restaurant last night (Friday night). Only one waitress. The food took forever to come, it came one item at a time, not cooked well and they forgot a main dish. The atmosphere is horrible. Cleaning supplies are everywhere. We were seated next to vacuums. The restaurant is very dirty and dusty. We sent a couple dishes/glasses back because too dirty. We were really grossed out.
