It appears to be a brand-new Dunkin location, with their brand-wide presentation redesigns. Now, the donuts appear behind a window right next to the customer, like at a bakery counter, instead of behind the workers at the register. The iced coffee, iced tea, nitro cold brew, and other cold drinks are accessed from bar taps, like beer on tap. The espresso machines are now no longer impersonal, push-button dispensers, but fancier, Marzocco-style manual machines, with handheld portafilters. Pretty cool!
It was kind of exciting! There were three strengths of hot coffee available, and I ordered Bold, which took a few minutes to make because they had either a) just run out, or b) never had it to begin with, but either way, I got fresh coffee. However, the flavor after the first few sips was less than stellar (I drink coffee black). I believe it is because when you roast low-quality beans more (to make a darker roast), you can bring out their poor flavor profile, whereas with higher-quality beans, the opposite is often the case. Although it may not have been an issue of coffee quality; maybe the filter was over-filled, or some other technical issue.
There is no more Beyond Sausage sandwich at Dunkin, which is a real bummer. But, the people at this store seemed very warm and enthusiastic and the place has a nice, shiny polished quality that makes me want to sit down there and do some work. Music wasn't bad either!
Altogether, I liked it. Next time, though, I'll get whatever coffee Dunkin serves as a default, and leave the Bold to the...
Read moreOh emmm G! I went in for a small iced latte with pumpkin and hazelnut. They gave me a medium cold brew. My friend said you should go back and get what you ordered. So I went back and they told me it’s more money. I asked why oh bc it’s a latte. So I said well you should only charge me the difference and she rang me up for $5.65! I told her nooooo I already paid for the original drink why would I pay again? So she said I’ll knock a dollar off and I said whatever even tho I was mad. She ended up only charging me a dollar. But then she had the nerve to tell me now this coffee is a waste! I told her well you messed it up and she said noooooooo you did! You did this! She wouldn’t even let me speak. I asked her if she treats all of her customers like this and that I’ll never be coming back here and I told her you know what? Im taking my tip back and I stuck my hand in the tip jar and took my money back. It’s the short lady at the register that’s always there. Blaming the customer! I need to contact Dunkin HQ! ZERO STARS! That lady shoukd not be in the customer service...
Read moreToday I had a very disappointing experience at the Dunkin’ in Chatham. I ordered a Black Cold Brew with no milk and no ice, and the cashier was rude, repeatedly asking me the same question and then telling me there would be an extra $0.50 charge for no ice — something I’ve never been charged for at any other location and that is not listed anywhere on the menu. To make it worse, she entered the extra charge as if I had purchased a “munchkin,” which I never received. This alone makes no sense — why would I be charged $0.50 for not adding ice, and have it rung up as a completely different item? I’ve also heard from others that the staff here can be rude, and unfortunately I experienced it myself today. For example, a friend once asked for a tap water and was charged $1, even though it’s supposed to be free by law, and the cashier refused to give it to her. Sadly, today confirmed that the service at this location leaves a lot...
