The restaurant is a welcome spot in Chattanooga’s North Shore. And let me tell you, the food is wonderful! I had the BLT Omelet and really enjoyed every bite. My husband had the KeKe’s Wrap and loved it! I highly recommend the crispy hash cake as a side. Our server suggested cheddar cheese on the hash cake, which was a tasty addition. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed our conversations with her. Service was a bit slow, but we could see she was busy, so all in all, it was understandable. There is plenty of free parking (often a challenge in Chattanooga), and we were greeted and seated right away.
My husband and I are tea drinkers. Although there wasn’t an option for tea on the menu, it was available when we asked. Then the bill came. A cup of tea costs $3.00, and that’s probably about the going rate for a cup of tea. We each had 2 cups…and we were charged each time ($12 for tea!) We brought our check up to the register to pay and asked to speak with a manager about the extra charge. There were 3 or 4 servers standing there, and one (I didn’t get her name) proceeded to tell me that they have to pay for each tea bag. Of course, I understand that, but don’t they also have to pay for the coffee in which they (and most restaurants) give unending cups to customers? I have yet to learn they reuse the same coffee grounds in a fresh pot. Do they charge customers for the creamers or sugar packets added to their drinks? Or for the salt and pepper? I asked her if she was the manager, and she said she was not. I asked again for a manager, and instead, the other servers brought our server up. She, too, defended the policy of charging for each tea bag, and really, I don’t mind that, but we should have been told. In fact, our server was so busy that by the time she got around to bringing me the milk I asked for to put into my tea, it was cold and not enjoyable to drink.
The food was very good here, and besides being too busy, our server was wonderful. The restaurant was pleasant and located in a great spot; I’ve been looking forward to checking it out since I heard they were opening. We won’t go back, though, and not because of the extra charges but because a manager never came to speak with me about their unfair policy. And for that, I am giving them...
Read moreHonest review of the service we had today. This was the first time we have ever come to this restaurant.
Wait time wasn’t too long. It was about 20 minutes, but it was enough time to walk down to Whole Foods and look around until it was time to be sat.
The restaurant itself is very cute. They had a merch shop in the front. Just from the look of it, all of the items they were selling were high quality. Plenty of seating, but if you're on the bigger side, like I am, you may want to ask for a table/bar instead of sitting in a booth.
We were seated at our table at 12:01 pm. It took over 30 minutes to get any service. As in, get a drink and entrée ordered.
The food came out in about 15 minutes, which wasn’t bad- but we got our waters and orange juice at the same time as the food arrived.
Our waitress had only been to our table twice. Once to take our order and the second time to drop off our drinks. (We never got refills on our waters while we were there or checked on)
The food was great. I had an omelet and my husband had a skillet.
My husbands entrée had a red, curly hair in it.
Spoke to the manager and he said “that’s odd. Everyone’s hair is in hats back in the kitchen.” But then said he would “fix it”
Neither one of us can finish our food that we only ate half of.
The manager was nice and he took care of the bill for us- Thank you for that.
I think today was just an off day for the restaurant. We will try them again later- but it will...
Read moreWe tried BBB for the 2nd time today. We tried them after opening and they were still working out kinks, so gave it another try due to staff being in the weeds the first time. Unfortunately, that has not improved and my simple breakfast today, definitely NOT BIG, and over charged too! I elected the biscuit(s) and gravy $6 and added two eggs which were $1 each. The biscuits were so dry and for $6, I thought I'd get enough gravy (water & flour) to cover them, but it wasn't the case. Due to server being in the weeds, I could not get my request for just a little more gravy until my eggs were gone & one, dry biscuit remained. :( The kicker was when the bill came, I got charged $2.50 for the gravy that in my mind should have originally been on the $6 plate. Yes, I could have made a statement or shared my thoughts, but honestly, our server was spread thin and it took so long to get check & even pay it, we were on bikes and getting hotter outside. My son had the French toast which he said was tasty but the server never asked about a protein to add, and after food arrived, he inquired about adding bacon. There was no way that was going to be added with ease. I definitely think Chattanooga needs more breakfast places, definitely a good thing to be busy, however, customer service still has NOT improved and the food quantity "BIG," it's part of their name, isn't there for the price. I sure miss the City...
