I would love to see more options for sustainable, plastic-free concessions!
I wonder if you all may be able to supply reusable cups, that theatergoers can choose, or even incentivize and communicate that theater-goers can bring their own reusable cups. Or of course you could provide compostable cups and also have special receptacles for those cups so that they actually get processed.
By 2050, we are slated to have more plastic than fish in our oceans, and over 95% of the plastic that we try to recycle actually ends up in landfills, in incinerators, or our waterways.
Plastics take hundreds of years to break down, and when they do, they break down into micro plastics that are poisoning our water and our food. It is up to venues, concessionaires, everyday people, and policy to wean us off of this destructive material.
I wonder if your theater could take a step in making and keeping Chattanooga beautiful by reducing its plastics output. Thank you for your consideration, and for being a fantastic...
Read moreMy son and I just enjoyed the children's production of "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" there this afternoon.
It was easy to find and ample parking was available. Some outside doors with neon "Enter" signs let us astray, as that portion of the theater was closed off.
Once we got inside through the main doors, the staff was friendly, and the main auditorium was packed. We found seats in the second row, at the far left end of the row.
The play started about 10 minutes late, but flowed smoothly after that. The production quality was pretty good, especially for a small local theater company.
We had a great time, and we'll be back to enjoy more programs...

Please ignore the comment about rude parking attendants (who probably are not employees of the Theatre Center). Also the volunteers who are in the lobby either (it is so nice that they volunteer their time) are all wonderful too, they just might not know everything about everything. Just ask for an employee of the Center at the box office. There is always one at every production. Than just come and enjoy the amateur near professional level productions that they put on.
