Waffle House — Restaurant in Chattanooga

We went to eat there tonight because everyone else was closed. Service was terrible, but that's not the reason I'm giving this review. We waited I know over 45 minutes for our food. In those 45 minutes we had 2 different ethnic families come sit in the booth behind us. The first family was African American. The WAITRESS turned her back and started cooking. We wasn't to aware of the situation until the ladies got up and left, they was never approached by the waitress to ask for drinks or offer menus. After that I started paying close attention to my surroundings. Next an Indian family comes in. They sit in the same booth the previous family before them sat in, directly behind us. The waitress legitimately turned her back to this family. I was fuming at this point, my husband asked me to calm down and let it play out. This family was waiting while 3 other gentlemen (separately) walked in and was helped. By that time I had enough. I stood from my table (without finishing my food) went to the register and said very clearly snd loudly where everyone could hear, "are yall short staffed?" The waitress answered "something like that" (there was 3 of them) and I stated "well it's like this I've seen two different ethnic families walk in here that you've blatantly turned your back to and that's disgusting! Their is a child sitting in that booth that has been sitting there for well over 25 minutes with his parent waiting to get a dang menu or some recognition of them sitting there! I suggest you or one of your co-workers to go take their order!" To which she replied "oh I didn't even see them" which she did because she came to my table numerous times and walked directly past them! Needless to say I've never left a restaurant without tipping but I did tonight! We are all children of God! No matter...

Waffle House is my favorite place for breakfast. This visit had a bad start though as the server seemed to ignore me.

First I thought that she might have not noticed me at the counter, but then a couple sat next to me. She took their order immediately while she continued ignoring me. One of the servers for the tables noticed her behavior and quickly poured some coffee for me. She promised that the server will be right with me. It did not happen.

The place was crowded, but only four people at the counter. I was the only one not served. I tried to catch the server's eye, but no luck. About 15 minutes later she finally asked for my order mumbling "have they not taken your order yet?" Yet she was the server for the counter, there was no-one else. The couple next to me was already eating their breakfast.

I saw her picking up waffles with her bare hand. Yak. When she brought me the food, the waffle was burned. I was hungry but I could not eat the waffle. It was dark brown and its center was bowed upwards. Only the edges touched the plate. Luckily the guy preparing eggs noticed it and asked me kindly, if I would prefer one not as crispy. He saved my breakfast experience :) The server refilled coffee for people around me without asking, but not mine. It took me a while to catch her attention and to ask for...

If I can give 0 stars I would Went to Waffle House last night about 9:30pm there was two servers no cook cause apparently he had called in for the night the Mexican girl which was the younger one with septum piercing and gray and black hair was very rude from the time we walked in she was mad that I asked for plastic ware and stated that I should’ve asked for that before I sat down to eat lmaoo cause now she have to wash dishes and the $2 she makes an hour is not enough money for the job she signed up for talked crazy to us the whole night gave us our food and drinks with an attitude she refused to serve one of us because she sat at a table by her self and said Waffle House policy was to not serve a person that sitting by themselves at the booth and can she only be served if she decided to sit at the high top but there was also a white man who sat at the booth by himself ( not high top ) that came in after us who was served before us with no problems or questions asked and he wasn’t asked to move to high top worst experience ever from the customer service to the negligence of the staff also the server that was cooking didn’t know how to make some of the food since she...
