Man where do I begin? First off I'm a patent that brought my daughter to this location. I also happen to have more than 10 years customer service and various lead position experience. So this isn't coming from someone that hasn't dealt with an atmosphere like this. It's Sunday (June 10, 2018) it is not super busy and I am at a child's birthday party. The party reps are under subpar. They are hardly around the birthday tables checking on guest. I watched 2 guest enter the ticket blaster with little to no instruction on how it works and what they can and can't do. 1 was a little boy. I'm guessing 5 covering his eyes from being hit with tickets. ( I've been to 3 other locations and they had goggles for eye protection. I'm surprised management isn't concerned of any repercussions if someone's kid gets an injured eye. (Laugh all you want at that last statement but people have been hurt from far less I am more than confident.)The front cashier was rude to a parent for not noticing the labels pointing them to the register if they wanted to pay for more than 10 dollars worth of coins. All the employees are in a "blah I'm here for the paycheck attitude" it is clear to read on their facial expressions. In fact that's a skill that's needed for places like this you have so many people that are inside a fairly warm building and none of the guest are really being engaged from any of the employees at all. Something really needs to be said to everybody at this location so that they understand that yes they may be here for a paycheck but they're also here for the kids they're here to make sure that the parents and their children have a wonderful experience at Chuck-E-Cheese. Trust me I get it a thousand screaming kids running around cuz they're so excited can be a little bothersome but the people you hire here need to understand that they need to flip a switch when they walk through those doors and always smiling face and always a "hey buddy! or hey sweetie! how are you doing I hope you have a wonderful time" get the kids excited for Chucky even though most young children find animatronics and people walking around in big furry animal suits fun and terrifying I digress but it's still part of the job. As I mentioned earlier in this comment I have more than 10 years experience in customer service though I've never worked at a Chuck-E-Cheese location. But I can tell you first-hand I know what it's like. House complaining about this openly to my better half and for about 10 seconds I spoke as if I worked here and had a few adults turn their heads in my direction looking for potential help with questions or assistance. Everyone here needs to learn how to put on a face and actor part if anybody's really going to enjoy their time here. I apologize for the lengthy post but having a below subpar experience at a location I am spending my hard-earned money on is...
Read moreWe went on a Thursday night (in June 2021) so it wasn't crowded at all. It was our first time back since the shutdown so I didn't know what to expect but we had an absolute blast (children ages 1, 3, 5, 8), even Dad and Mom! We chose to do the timed all-you-can-play for 1 hour, plus a large pizza and 4 drinks. My total bill was around $40. How it works now, is they give you a card that has an hour loaded on to it (or however much time you choose). From the moment you first use it, you have 1 hour to play and are able to pause the timer only once (to eat, for example). You just tap the card onto the screen at each game or ride and the game/ride will start. I have 4 children and we all used the same card. We did discover that you have to wait for a little bit between each tap: we were all at skee ball and tried going down the line, tapping all the games, but the screen said "wait a moment, you swipped too soon." We waited maybe 5-10 more seconds and tried again and it worked. I don't know exactly how long you have to wait but it wasn't too terribly inconvenient, and like I said, I have 4 children plus dad and mom going crazy on all the games and it was fine. We did have some leftover tokens from before the shutdown, and we easily loaded those onto our card at the kiosk after our timer ran out. Tickets are no longer dispensed, it all gets loaded onto the card automatically, which I think is fantastic. Then at the prize counter, you can tap your card there and find out how many tickets you have. If you don't use all the tickets at 1 time, it saves on your card, no more slips that fade. No more hand stamps anymore either, so upon arrival, they ask you to take a picture with your phone by a nice backdrop, and when leaving, you show them your pic so they know you have the correct children. This location (Peek Trail, Chesapeake VA) was clean, and the staff were so kind, patient, and helpful as I had so many questions. Pizza and drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back...
Read moreMy family and I have been to this Chuck E Cheese, 3x's, for our daughters birthday. The last 2 times, we we're in the "birthday area". It would have been nice if there was a separate room for those with birthday parties. We had a few instances where other kids, from other parties, as well as from the "general area", ran on our side and grabbed pizza or asked for cake. We'll, it was cute the 1st time, but my daughter was diagnosed with autism, and she doesn't fair well with kids touching her plate, let alone taking a wing or slice of pizza. So it took about 5 minutes to calm her down from that. We'll, that's more of a parental issue....however, I just learned that there are other facilities that have separate rooms. Hmmm....We'll, now that we know this, we will DEFINITELY be going to the other places, for parties. THIS TIME, all things considering, we picked the general area. Yeeeaaahhhh, we'll stick with the private area from now on. But here's my main issue with THIS particular Chuck E Cheese....most of the machines were malfunctioning! A couple didn't work at all. And at least 6 of the machines that we put tokens in, ate our tokens/didn't pop out tickets. There were a couple of times, we had to search for someone. One young lady, in particular, was really sweet and gave us some tokens back, and on the next occasion gave is some tickets. That was cool! But the next few times it happened.....We just said forget it....because, having to search for her again (because the other employees looked frustrated) became too daunting of a task. Most employees were really nice, no one was super rude....they just looked a bit overwhelmed and ready to clock out...kinda like, they took the job because it was available, and they were gonna do JUST their job....and kids were NOT their favorite people lol. Overall, it was an okay place. It looked clean....they just need some maintenance done on their games and perhaps 2-3 people to walk around and make sure...
