Well, here is my updated review. Mu family visited this place again this last Sunday Aug. 28 & my opinion did not change much unfortunately. The food was still not up to scale. The black pepper chicken looked more like rolled chicken skin pieces fried crisp & tossed in the sauce. I was afraid to even try it. It did not look good to me. The lomein was still lacking. Thr potatoes were hard & not hot each time I went up there but, people seem to like them because after watching the bar worker refill the potatoes, by the time I got up there it was almost empty again. Ha. The thing gi did like was the availability of the hibachi. Though I still say the restaurant really should put some choices of sauces on the vounter for people to pick from to give to the cook, the one doing the cooking was very nice & even talked to me a out the sauces. & when I told him I like a little sweet & spicy combo without the spicy being overkill, he hooked me up. The lomein was awesome when he finished adding the sauces I suggested. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere was nice & quiet but yeah, the food alone coukd really use some improvement. But they do have a lot of options for their deserts. I paid $59 for two adults & 2 kids. Overall this restaurant is still better than Crazy Chinese Buffet in chesapeake tho'. This is the update after visiting late in the evening on my 1st visit there as mentioned in original review below. My review score would be 3.9 with room for improvement.
This place was ok. The time of day we came happened to be maybe an hour before closing & it was pretty slow so they were not refreshing the buffet as often as they probably do during the middle of the day. The food that I got was pretty good. I do like the hibachi BUT, I do wish they offered more choices of sauces like Szechuan sauce, Mongolian sauce, sweet soy, garlic sauce instead of just chopped up garlic, a chili sauce along with the red chilis, sweet ginger sauce, teriyaki sauce & so on. They only have two sauce choices. Not much at all for flavoring at the hibachi stand. We will try this place once more this Sunday after Sunday school & see if maybe they are more on top of keeping the bar refreshed with fresh hot food. When I asked the server if they were going to put out fresh lo mien & she stirred the cold lo mien on the bar & said "This good lo mien, it fresh see" yeah no it wasn't. I've eaten at many Chinese buffets & that definitely was not fresh. But, because of the tie of day. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt & will try them again this weekend to see if it was just a bad time of day to visit their restaurant. I will post an update when I do, with photos of the bar & choices. The crawfish was obviously not fresh. It tasted like it had been sitting on that bar for a while. To the point that it overcooked it. Very disappointing. But for now, I will leave it at a 4 star until next time. we'll see if the rating gets updated higher, lower or stays the same with an...
Read moreso i' just moved to this state and I most def will not lie on google reviews first off let's jump in to the hostess she is a young asian or chinese woman that stands at the podium and she doesn't greet she just flats out say how many you tell her your party number then she places you to sit at the table and before you sit down she is already forcing you to say what type of drink you want then if you don't respond right away she ask again and then you tell her then she walks away first off let's keep it real a lot of us don't walk up to the buffet before you choose to dine which is something we all should pay close attention to when dining buffet style you need to check to see if the food is made fresh you most def want to make sure that what is there is what you would want to eat i understand we go out to eat with friends and family but why not eat and enjoy your meal and also make sure you get what your paying for this particular buffet has all types of old food sitting in the warmers old nuggets old pizza salmon soaked in water that was suppose to be baked cold rice but what I noticed was everything wasn't fresh at all there is suppose to be a certain temp for serving any type of food in the warmers i'm sure if the heath department was to come they would have had many citation i'm not gonna pay you almost 20.00 for food that isn't fresh or looks presentable to eat they could ad least try and control the flies and gnats flying around the food that's disgusting i'm not gonna eat food that has flies landing on it and i'm sure you wouldn't either why is it they have attitudes if you ask to have something fresh they look and roll there eyes that's not good customer service i don't know if they' just tell people to get up here and give good reviews but the truth is the truth it's not fair to get up here and tell you something false because we're asked especially when our health is important to us as for me i'm gonna see to it people have knowledge to pay attention to small things as far as food service and customer service and as far as this restaurant those are the main things that really need to be worked on at this location especially the food i can ignore the attitude but food is hard for me to overlook when it's a buffet and i'm hoping to enjoy...
Read moreIt's so sad when you decide to eat out at a restaurant, spend your $$, give a huge tip, just to be treated like garbage! I took my parents here (they love a "good, quality Asian buffet)"only to be met with a rude greeter that was more interested in his cellular device and basically waved his arm to jester "sit over there somewhere" 😑. To add more insult to injury, the waitress could barely speak English. She was rude. She kept taking our plates without asking if we were finished. She swept the floor right next to our booth while we were eating. Fluffing up dust particles around our meals. Disgusting! Her and another co-worker were staring down customers, our table included, while we sat awhile to let our food digest as if to say "OK you're finished now, hit the road, and get out!" The waitress and her co-worker were staring so hard at a white gentleman who looked homeless that I assumed he didn't pay for his meal. He, too, was just sitting there. It was soooooo uncomfortable that I summoned Hawkeyes to our table and asked her, "Did the gentleman pay for his food?" Of course, the language barrier, so she summoned her co-worker to translate. The young lady responded "yes". I said, " Oh, if he hadn't, I would pay for him. She walked away, embarrassed, back to her post, speaking in her native tongue to stare at me for the remainder of my meal. I decided to take a picture 📸 of her. She went to tell her co-worker, and the co-worker switched tables with her. I also noticed that the Asian customers were treated like royalty and were not rushed to finish their meals. It appeared that their plates weren't being snatched abruptly like everyone else. Overall, the food was just OK, nothing to write mom about. The atmosphere sucked! Out of all the establishments I've been to, this one is the worst! I wouldn't even send my dog there for scraps if they were advertising free food! I will not...
