Western Branch Park in Chesapeake, VA - This is your standard midsized park next to the recreation center. There are 2 playgrounds, one for big kids and one for little kids, tennis courts, a trail, baseball fields, benches, a couple of shelters, a dog park, and a wide open grass field. It gets busy during soccer and baseball/softball season but otherwise there is plenty of parking and not typically too much traffic. #Virginia #ChesapeakeVa

A favorite spot to bring the pup for a "field trip" We love to walk the trails. Please be sure to keep your dog leashed, my dog was rushed by a huge 100+ lb. German Shepherd when his owner was walking the trail through the woods with him off leash. I was left holding a leash while my 75 lb. lab/ hound mix was forced to defend himself while the Shepherd owner tried to call him off (to no avail). It was an ugly situation. We do like the park though. They have a great dog park as well.

We had a wonderful day at this hidden little gem of a play park. We didn't need the facilities while there, but I don't recall seeing any, or it would have been perfect. My apologies if I missed it! After all the rain recently, we were surprised there was no mud! My beautiful grand daughters had a blast!! One of my sons, his daughter, and niece were makin PRECIOUS memories!! Thank you for the well kept maintenance of this park.

It's not a fabulous kids focused park. Two separate playgrounds (with a nice tree shade covering)that could use a little love. A big dog park, trails, picnic shelters, tennis courts and ball fields with bleachers and stadium lights.Park is clean, plenty of parking at the separate areas. It is a nice local park to get out and get some fresh air at. Building at the end of the park has restrooms and drinking fountain where the ball fields are otherwise port-a-johns are sporadically placed throughout. I don't know how many drinking fountains there are but definitely not any by...
