Wow.. this place was just awful. I was excited to take my friend here because I love Thai food and he has never tried it.
This was my first time eating here and the service was so terrible. Nobody acknowledged us when we walked in and were waiting to be seated. When we finally were seated our server took a long time just to come over and greet us. Just getting water took a long time. When we ordered she was cold and rude. Not welcoming at all. We started with the fried veggies as an appetizer, and that was the only decent thing we ate. I ordered the phad Thai noodles, a classic traditional Thai dish I've had MANY times before at other restaurants. First off, they brought me the wrong order twice and had to take my dish back because it wasn't the protien choice I ordered. I didn't care about the mess up, but they kept taking the dish away from me after realizing it was incorrect. When I got the correct one, the flavor was really bizarre like a sour soy sauce. And that's not what it's supposed to taste like. It should have a slightly sweet and tangy flavor. With a hint of creamy peanut flavor. And that's not how it tasted at all. It was also dry and the noodles were hard instead of solf how they should be.
I recommend the drunken noodles to my friend because it's another favorite dish of mine and I knew my friend would like it. However, the noodles were soggy like mush, and the flavor was also off.
Every time we tried to get assistance from our server, she would ignore us. Other servers passing by were more helpful. And when ours would help, she would take a long time or forget what we even asked for, which was just more water, a lime, and sweet chili sauce. Nothing difficult. I was very disappointed with her lack of attentiveness. And rude approach when she was present.
The only time she was kind was when she gave us the bill, probably because she wanted a good tip. She forgot my to go cup for my Thai tea 3 times. She saw me ask someone different, and then she brought it over.
Also, my friend ended up throwing up imminently when he got home. He got food poisoning. We will not be returning again. I DO NOT...
Read moreI havent had Thai in ages. I ordered number 35 off their dinner menu and a glass of Thai tea.
The Thai tea I was not as impressed with - it is the same kind you'll be served at any of the local boba tea places. I am pretty sure it comes out of a can. I only mention this because my previous experience with sit-down Thai restaurants included some of most delicious tea I've ever had. It was passable however.
Now on to the good stuff. The number 35? (I think that was pad khing, but dont quote me.) Described as ginger, snow peas, carrots and garlic, I chose chicken as my protein. Delicious. Really. It gets five starts because it was so good.
I did get a level 2 of 5 spice, which meant I took longer to eat than I thought I would (have to try and eat slowly so the burn doesnt overpower the deliciousness). XD 2 of 5 was pretty spicy for me. Next time I will probably order a level 1. But it was nonetheless fantastic.
Even the rude ladies with the kid - watching some kind of kids program on a phone without earbuds or headphones couldnt touch the five star rating. If I get to rate them, they get a one. Good job, exposing the kid to other cuisines, good job keeping him occupied - docked four stars because it is a quiet sit down restaurant with all of three patrons at that point and you were sitting next to one. And when they went to leave she told the boy he had to give the phone back, he couldnt have it while at the grocery store but after that she would give it back to him. Seriously lady, the grocery store is beyond the pale, but the dinner joint, the pretty classy dinner joint, that's just fine? Hope you dont encounter the people who havent ever heard of headphones and your experience will be wonderful.
The waitresses were very pleasant, the ambiance without the kids program was very nice. The meal was dinner - before tax entree and thai tea added up to just under $20, after tip, closer to $30. Definitely worth it for how tasty it was. I will...
Read moreI had an easy 5 Star lunch here on Saturday afternoon. I stopped in here with a good friend of mine that enjoys some Thai food. He mentioned that no one in his family liked Thai food but him, so even better.
I started my meal off with the salad that came with the entre along with some fresh rolls I had added on the side. Their were 3 fresh rolls in appetizer and they were made with chicken (also available with shrimp), lettuce, carrot, noodle, and basil wrapped with rice skin. I finished the small salad and 1 fresh roll.
Then the entre arrived. For my meal I ordered Pad Priew Wan which is the following. Stir fried onion, cucumber, red and green bell pepper, baby corn, pineapple, garlic, tomato and sweet and sour sauce. My protein with this was also chicken. This also comes with jasmine rice. This was deceptively filling. When they brought out the plate I thought it seemed kind of small but once I mixed everything together it was a smorgasbord of deliciousness!!! I also enjoyed my second fresh roll with the entre. I took the third one home.
Service was impeccable. Our server was friendly and very attentive and also very knowledgeable of the product. Everyone on the staff present said thank you and goodbye as we were leaving. The restaurant was also very very clean. I look forward to...
