I now know why all the employees, especially in grocery and cashiers look so miserable and like they don't want to be there every time I shop! Last week while shopping in grocery browsing at an endcap, a woman with medium length brown hair, not in manager or team member uniformity, but I can only assume is definitely part of management, was badgering a young female employee when she walked past her working. The woman repeatedly asked the employee how she was doing and the employee remained pretty much silent and replied very quietly with a one or two-word answer, clearly just wanting to be left alone and looked like she wasnt in a good mood from that. The woman then told the young employee very loudly "You look like you are going to cry!" The girl then walked away with some items she had grabbed, just doing work, probably to put them back where they belong. She had her head down and did look upset after the woman who repeatedly asked her questions and shouted the crying comment and looked quite upset. That is something you do in the back, or dont ask at all if you arent on a friendship level with employees. I tried to call to file a complaint about what I had witnessed, but whoever answered the phone not only had me on hold for almost 10 minutes, they RUDELY told me that the person who is the head of the store was too busy to talk to me and quickly hung up. I am done with this place, and I will go out of my way to tell my friends and family not to go here. Employees are trying to make a living, and are being bullied while doing so. You dont have my business anymore, but I plan on investigating this further and stopping by to ask employees how they are treated , especially the ones who look like they dont want to be there. Hopefully I run into the girl who was being bullied so this can be confirmed, tell her she doesnt deserve that, even offer her a job at my dads business, and get that obnoxious womans name from her, she was completely out of line and trashy, not management material. Get your sh** together when it comes to hiring...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have to say that I was less than thrilled with my last visit to Meijer. I or my husband shop at Meijer on a regular basis... I'm talking about almost a daily or semi daily basis. I am disabled and have problems walking at times. When I went that day, I knew I was going to need a cart to at least get from one side of the store to the other to pick up scripts and cat food. I asked the gentleman that was there to greet customers... But wasn't doing a good job at all. All he was doing was standing there hardly acknowledging anyone... If he knew which cart had the best charge. He started pointing to one of the carts and said it was good. I sat down and turned it on and it wasn't charged. I finally said I was just going to use a different one. So I started off to the other side of the store but before I got 3/4 of the way, my cart started to die. I barely made it to the area where I plugged it in hoping the next person would have a better experience with it than I did. I had to use a buggy and try to walk through the store to get everything I needed to get. I was in extreme pain by the time I got home. This is not the first time this has happened and I'm afraid it won't be the last. These carts are very old and need to be replaced!! I love to shop at Meijer but I can't keep having to walk when my back and legs are in so much pain I can barely stand. I had to lean on the buggy just so that I could buy items for my family. I can't tell you the amount of times I only purchased a few items because I was unable to walk well and every cart would be either broke down or not charged. I would like to put out a plea to those who are supposed to handle these situations.... You have redone this store and it is wonderful but WHY haven't you upgraded the carts?? I believe you are losing money due to the lack of carts available for those that need them. I believe if you keep your customers happy, you will experience wonderful things in return. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help those that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give this Meijer 5 stars for all the Improvement that they have done in the store it looks very nice. I just don't like that you need to go all the way on the other side of the store for the pet supplies, after you've been grocery shopping. I know it's a strategy to get people to walk through the whole entire store and buy more stuff but, Then you have to go all the way back to the other side because more likely you parked on the grocery store side. The pet supplies area is nicely done BUT! The fish tanks needs work! You always fine sick fish there. None of the tanks have any decorations, rocks or plants, the fish just swam in an empty tank. they are stressed out which causes them to get sick. Nobody will buy sick fish that knows better. set the tanks up nice it would attract more people. Real gravel and some big rocks at least two plants that would be such an improvement. The fish would be happier and healthier and would sell faster. There's never anybody ever over there but you can get customer service by picking up the red phone on the back wall which is nice. I wish they would take care of the Bata fish better. The fish are always in dirty water. I know they come in a container with special water that last a few days but it does need to be replaced if the fish are not sold. Otherwise they die from the ammonia build up and lack of oxygen because there's no plant in the container. The sales would improve if they had a tiny live plant in each beta container and make sure the water is kept clean. If people see sick or a dead fish they just lost a sale. Overall Meijer is...
