What a gem! Lov-a Burger really is a labour of love, set in a little strip mall that can be easy to miss. But don't miss out on an excellent grill with a delicious variety of burgers and shakes.
We popped in this weekend for lunch and were delighted to find a replacement for Halo Burger's delicious olive burger without having to drive to Flint! The burgers aren't enormous, but filling enough to hit the spot. Most are $7-12 before adding a combo, fries or a drink. The menu has a lot of classics and several unique choices I've not seen elsewhere. Variety is the spice of life and that is celebrated here with quality ingredients.
The bacon cheeseburger is a plump, tall quarter pound of hamburger paired to beautifully crisp bacon, melted cheese, and a slightly toasted bun. My partner took his time to savour it, and pronounced it every bit as good as it looked.
I got the LA Volcano burger, which comes with jalapeno poppers, cheese, spicy sauce, and more. The burger was so good, I may have inhaled it. The jalapeno popper with its cream cheese dollop blended so well with the filling. 5 stars for this burger alone.
We enjoyed the onion rings, though they're on the softer breaded side (FYI if you prefer crispy). They were a generous portion but not too much.
Don't miss the Creamsicle shake. It was fantastic, a taste of summer joy in the middle of a grey spring afternoon.
The service is excellent and the couple running the restaurant passionate, attentive, and very kind. The place is clean as a whistle with whimsical horse murals and four tables to dine in. What a treat! This will be a stop whenever we head through...
Read moreThis place is not worth it. Do not spend your money here. I didn’t know the difference between my burger if it was a slider patty or a real patty, but the waitress was nice and told me it’s a patty I got a hotdog Chicago style. The bun wasn’t even a Chicago style hotdog. The lettuce was normal sweet pickles. The tomatoes were chopped up, rather be in a sliced the pepper that they’re supposed to put. It was regular pineapple pepper. These people don’t even know how to make proper food. They’re just throwing stuff on the hotdog or the cheeseburger thinking they’re doing good. I can’t believe this place got 4.5 stars were the chili cheese fries was dirty. The fries were darker than a brown the oil definitely needs to be changed in the fryer. I will give this place another try in a month. If my patty still looks small I will call the business bureau and tell them how they are price gouging on this food. I feel bad for these customers and for anybody that lives in Chesterfield that eats in this type of place go just down the street and get you a real burger from the other place. or any other Coney Island in Chesterfield I could’ve went to Happys Pizza and got me a ghetto burger which had been better. I am very upset from this place. My total was $43. It wasn’t worth $15. I feel bad for the people in Chesterfield. These guys are stealing your money, don’t let people like this. Take your money go down the street to happy pizza or to Leo Coney Island or the Coney Island next to the gas station hell I could’ve just went to the gas station or 7-Eleven and got me went to speedway and probably would’ve...
Read moreFirst time ordering from this place based on the reviews we read online. It was very clean yet a very small burger joint based on the pictures hubby sent while waiting for our order.
He was the ONLY customer there and that the WHOLE parking lot was empty.
He ordered a MEDIUM RARE double Mushroom and Swiss Burger for me. The cook overheard hubby placing our order commented that "medium rare is the best way to have your burger" yet made my burger practically well done. Because it's was juicy (greasy) I question the ratio of the fat/beef content. I could only take 5 bites because it was so greasy that I knew my stomach would punish me later if I ate more.
I had a vanilla shake and the ice cream and whipped topping was imitation and not premium. I can handle imitation vanilla ice cream but I can't with imitation whipped topping. How can I tell? Premium whipped topping would last longer than the shake itself!
The fries were almost burnt on the outside and somewhat raw on the inside. They were limpy which indicated they weren't fully cooked.
Hubby had the fish and chips was good. The homemade tartar sauce was decent but needed more relish.
The biggest shock was the price. For two ppl it was almost $40.00!! It was a barely a mediocre meal at best. We have never spent that much ordering the same menu items from other...
