We (Me, my Wife, and my 7 year old Daughter) visited the Chesterfield location tonight and it was our first time to ever experience this brand/ establishment. I gotta be totally honest, the food was every bit of 4/5 stars. The waitress we had was 6 stars. Her name is Gwen, and she was awesome. I have been to a million places and she was one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to encounter. We asked for a "little while to view the menu" since we had never been there before. She was still attentive but not pressuring. Most places do pressure tactics to get you to eat and get out so they can get the next paying customer in the seat. If you are lucky enough to have her as your waitress then you will be very pleased. Pricing for this place is very reasonable considering the environment and quality of food. I would normally expect higher prices based on environment. Food portions are good and the taste is great. The place is also pretty entertaining while waiting for the food. There are so many things to look at and wonder about how they made them hang there. The only downside I personally experienced was the large group of teenagers that were a little over the top with the "jocky" and "prissy" personalities. They were obviously friends with the people working the host desk...didnt look great to me since they kind of overtook the host desk and made it hard to access. Kids will be kids...but maybe shouldn't be the face of the business...idk. Even with that being said, the kids at the host desk still did a really decent job of greeting and seating. Just didnt look great when walking in. That is no reflect on this business. You can pick your house but not your neighbors...right? I would 110% visit 54th Street Grill & Bar again anytime...just maybe not on a friday night when the high school kids are there. Overall, I give the business a 4.5 of 5 stars because they deserved it and worked for it. P.S. Most places dont even earn that high of a rating these...
Read moreUpon arrival I was greeted by a friendly hostess team, the wait was 10 minutes around noon to be seated. I was seated in an open area where they had hightop tables and a view of TVs playing sporting events. The atmosphere, typical of a bar and grill. The friendly and polite waitress Jenna, swiftly took drink and appetizers orders. I ordered a Coca-cola and Painkiller with an order of Fry Me Some Cheese and boneless wings. The mozzarella sticks were nicely seasoned, stuffed with mozzarella and fried well, the cheese bites were less desirable, with a little too much time in the fryer, leading to the cheese being overcooked and crunchy. The boneless wings had a perfect lightly breaded fry that really highlighted the chicken flavor, an example of how breading on boneless wings should be, the buffalo sauce was also pleasantly spicy and sweet. For entrees I ordered a potato soup and chicken fried chicken with Mac and Cheese for the side, and Jenna was kind enough to humor my request for a side of buns with the chicken. The potato soup was salt forward first with potato highlights coming on the back end. The chicken fried chicken was breaded and slathered in white gravy, which paired well with the side of buns, soaking up the gravy juices; it was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The mac and cheese was a cavatappi, with a nice sprinkle of baked bread, light, and cheesy. The mashed potatoes were on the salty side, and the biscuit was airy and not to dry. Overall it was a nice lunch and Jenna’s attentive and friendly manners made for a great experience. I recommend trying the boneless wings as they really stand out compared to other bar and...
Read moreI visited on the evening of 5/23 around 9:30pm by myself after getting out of a class I had to take for work in the city. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, I experienced the weirdest, most unwelcoming greeting I’ve ever had while dining out. It’s like the greeter was confused to see that I had come in at that hour or by myself or something. I’m not sure what the issue was; I asked him if they weren’t seating people anymore and said it’s okay if they weren’t and that I would just leave, because he was literally just standing there staring at me with a blank stare not saying anything. Like I said, it was only 9:30pm when I arrived, and they were advertised to be open until 11pm. He still kept staring at me confused, but eventually said that they were still seating people. But then he acted like he had no idea where he was going to seat me, even though the restaurant was full of empty tables? And then he took a menu and just walked off to an empty table without saying anything else to me…the whole situation was just very bizarre and left a bad taste in my mouth. I almost ended up just walking out after that, but decided to stay only because I knew most other places were already closed by that time. Other than that, my food was great. Service otherwise was fine; my waitress was timely, but not overly friendly. She did, however, serve my iced tea in a giant mug and gave me four lemon slices, which I did appreciate! I wish every restaurant would do that! 🍺🍋 Overall, this experience won’t keep me from coming back, but it definitely wasn’t a positive one,...
