88 China — Restaurant in Chesterfield

So, the first time I tried this place it was pretty good..hence why I went back a second time. However, my roommate and I ordered take out last night and I'm a night shift nurse at a hospital so we split our food up and I took mine to work to eat on my break only to find that my sweet and sour chicken was over fried 10 fold! I'm not talking a little over fried, it was so bad that when I tried to cut a piece in half the batter crumbled and was almost hollow other than a shriveled up piece of over fried chicken. Sometimes people make mistakes, no one is perfect-it's how they handle the mistakes. So, my roommate called and explained to them what happened and after the run around for a while (and explaining only a few pieces were eaten, only bc I was working 13 hours and had to put food on my stomach and all I wanted was to bring the almost full remainder of the chicken in and get it replaced by some that was cooked properly) she finally admitted that other customers had complained of the same thing. So, we drove up there with the uneaten portion (and proof it was WAY over fried) only for her to give me an attitude and eye roll while the cooks started going off in Chinese and looking at me laughing. Since my roommate is fluent in Chinese I recorded it and sure enough they were talking about me and let's just say it wasn't pretty. She also gave me a hard time about getting sweet and sour sauce with it so my roommate went back in and paid her the 25 cents it cost. So, who knows if they did something to the replaced food? Bc I trashed it and I will NEVER come back here. They just lost what would've been a life long customer! Also, I took pictures of the over cooked chicken and have them still. We've been frequenting 88 China for over 8 years and sadly tonight will be the last time. My wife placed our usual order of combination plates. Unfortunately she called them meals instead of combination plates. When she got home with the the order we had only whole orders of the entrees and small orders of white rice instead of what we had ordered. I called and began explaining it to the young man there. He immediately cut me off and said that my wife had ordered incorrectly. I tried to explain that I only wanted to get the fried rice for the orders as we had asked for. He hung up on me midsentence and would not answer when I called back. My with then called to address or issues and he went into a profanity filled rant and hung up on her. She called back, asked for the manager, who's only response was that her son (who takes the orders) annoys...

Bland, tasteless and vaguely rancid. I ordered the pork fried rice, and there was no flavor at all. It was like eating cardboard. Even adding 3 packs of soy sauce could not give the rice any flavor. I could not stomach more than a few bites of it. Most of it went into the trash. I also ordered the fried won tons, and they had a gummy texture, as if the won ton was fried at too low a temp and had absorbed too much oil. Also the meat inside had zero flavor, other than a slightly rancid pork taste. I had to throw away 7 of the 8. I know Chinese food in the St Louis area sux, but this was absolutely vile. I am actually sitting here at work wondering if I will need to run to the ladies' room and vomit...
