Pains me to have to change my previous five star review, because the food does taste good at least... Let me start by saying I'm okay with getting a one off dirty glass, asking for a new one and its clean. Things happen. However I asked for a new glass and the new one was even more disgusting, soap scum and food particles all along the inside of the glass. As if that wasn't enough, then opened up one of the napkin wrapped utensils to find a fork with FOOD on it. I'm not talking about a water spot or a little spec, this had food on it, chocolate or something all over the business end of the fork. The worst part was that no one seemed to care. The waitress took the fork and never brought a new one. Had to ask a passing buser to get us water in to-go cups. Should have just left at this point.. At the end I asked to talk to manager and he was not the least bit genuine, blew me off, said they were already aware of the issue and that the dishwasher was new, and walked away while I was still talking to him. Assuming I believe the poorly delivered excuse, if you were already aware as you said, then why did I get dirty glasses and utensils? I worked in restaurants in college, some cleaner than others. If you were aware of this already, why weren't all the dishes, cups, and utensils pulled to be rewashed? Have had to do this myself in the past to ensure the people I was serving were getting clean stuff. In one of the better places I worked, I remember the manager rolling up his sleeves during dinner rush to re-wash dishes himself. From experience I can tell you that places that have this sort of attitude about something as simple as getting customers clean cups, plates, and utensils also carry this attitude over to every aspect of the restaurant. Food dropped on the ground? Just brush it off and cook it a little longer. Somethings expired? Well it only expired two weeks ago... Anyways, you've...
Read moreThis review is extremely difficult to write because, quite frankly, this is my favorite breakfast place. The food is top-notch, the menu is unique, and the decorations, truly make these places the best of any breakfast spots I have ever been to. I have been a loyal customer for quite some time at the Valley Park location, this is a first at this location and definitely my last after experiencing a level of rudeness and unprofessionalism from our server that was truly unrivaled.
The quality of service was appalling. Our server seemed to not have a care in the world about anything, particularly how any of the patrons perceived her. The most glaring issue was her blatant disregard for customer interaction: she was on the phone, using in-ear pods, while actively serving our table. She was not present to our needs, making it clear her conversation was more important than our experience or order.
I understand the world is a technology-driven place these days, but to be so blatantly rude as to be talking on the phone and ignoring customers is unacceptable in ANY industry. Furthermore, I witnessed her exhibit an unnecessary level of rudeness toward her coworkers.
It is a genuine shame that these behaviors are now, apparently, acceptable as I witnessed someone appearing to be manager (middle aged male) walk right by as this was taking place. I truly hope upper management addresses this issue, because while the kitchen team is doing an incredible job, this server has severely deteriorated our views of this location and cost it a five-star review.
I dont normally write these online reviews but felt it necessary in...
Read moreThis has been our favorite breakfast place since it opened. We typically come early and sit at the bar. Today our waitress/bar tender was Alex. She was phenomenal. We placed our orders and had drinks in seconds, our meal shortly thereafter. I ordered The Meg Ryan, and instead of eggs, I asked that they substitute it with more BACON. The Meg Ryan typically comes with 2 pieces of meat. My husband ordered a Denver Omlet, and asked that they substitute the hash browns with BACON . Typically, when ordering the Meg Ryan my BACON would be the standard 2 slices and an additional 2-3 slices for the substitution. My husbands plate came out with one slice of BACON , mine with 3 slices. Now in looking at the Decor, you would think based on the ginormous lit up BACON sign, that BACON , might be one of the staples of the restaurant and something they take pride in. And in the past, they were always very generous with BACON orders. So we spoke to Bree the manager on duty who advised us that their GM came up with a new policy that substitutions would consist of one slice of BACON. Because my husband got only one piece of meat with his meal he ended up ordering a side of BACON (3 pieces) at the cost of $3.00, which by the way is the same cost for a side of hash browns. We advised Bree, that we were sadden to hear of the change, and let her know there would be a review forthcoming. So the moral of the story: don’t substitute BACON on your meal because you’ll only get one piece and if you like BACON, don’t waste your time going to The Shack / Chesterfield because you won’t get...
