As my wife and I pulled into the parking lot and up to the drive thru we see the clerk outside talking to someone and smoking a cigarette. (No big deal dude, take your break) BUT Instead of saying “it’ll be one moment” We here him cussing and screaming incredibly loudly “every time I start this cigarette god damnit——— yada yada——— I’m going to kill someone”
He slams the door and storms inside and up to the window. Yeah. Off-putting?
We then proceed to say, “hey we’re sorry, we’re just wondering if you sell cigarettes, and we want to buy a couple bottles of wine.”
He puts his head in his hands for like 15 seconds and says, “Yeah! We do sell cigarettes, in fact I was enjoying my smoke break when you decided to pull up!”
We apologize and offer to let him go finish his break and he yells no and proceeds to tell us he doesn’t carry the brand American Spirits we asked for.
At this point we just decided to leave and drove off because there was no way we were going to entertain giving our money to this business. Instead we went to DT’s Liquor mart down the street where we spent $90+ and the lady at the counter was incredibly nice and had what we needed.
In 10 years I’ve never left anything but 5 star reviews, but the hostility this clerk displayed was unmatched, unnecessary, and unacceptable. This dude needs to go on a vacation before he assaults someone. Hopefully a permanent vacation; and if he is the owner, I could not believe this is how someone runs their business.
