Shockingly bad experience for lunch. Staff is clearly not trained, as our server didn't even offer to take our drink order and was completely unconcerned that a great deal of what we ordered went uneaten. She did not ask if we liked our food. She did not ask if we wanted to go boxes. Menu descriptions are incomplete. Perhaps that's why we were each asked individually if we had food allergies - mystery ingredients. Kitchen staff is also in serious need of training. French fries came in a large clump for each of us. How can a pub not get fries right? Sandwiches are impossible to eat by hand. No one in our party was happy. The handheld debit system either was not working or the staff has not been trained how to use it. It took at least 15 minutes of repeated attempts to get it to work. All the while, the manager was sitting at the bar, watching the staff struggle with the payment system and eating his own lunch. Clusters of staff stood around together, talking to one another and ignoring customers. Please train your staff!! More importantly, train your management or hire someone with experience to get it right. It's been weeks since we were there and I'm still upset that we had to pay a dime for that disappointing food and horrendous "service". And it wasn't cheap, by the way. Only the woman who refilled our water seemed to care about providing a good experience. I cannot fathom why the owner of this establishment would put so much money into the decor and think that's all hungry people care about. On the up side, the...
Read moreThe atmosphere of LG’s is outstanding. They have a very intimate and modern feel for an Irish pub. Great fit for old town / Wells St. interesting decor all around, with one room themed like a wine cellar and another lined with bookshelves.
The menu has some good options and interesting takes on what you might consider traditional bar food. I went with the short rib cheese burger and it was excellent. The presentation was decent and the quality of meet was very good. We did nachos and Brussels sprouts as an app and both were very good.
The service was decent. The server disappeared for periods of time and did not have any knowledge on the wines or whiskeys offered, but she was very friendly. For have a wine cellar themed room, I would expect a more extensive wine list. They only have about 6 different wines. Also, they have an expansive whiskey menu, but then were out of the first selection we ordered.
Overall, our experience was great. The atmosphere is impressive and the food was very good. I recommend getting some good wines on your menu and take Bogle off the list. You have the clientele that will buy it...
Read moreReally good music, lots of very young people but We liked the music so we stayed. Had couple of drinks and watched people having fun. One song I really liked and danced on one of those “couch top” made out of cement/tile. Bouncer approached me very aggressively and yelled I had to leave. Usually at any place they will give you a warning or tell you in a nice way. But he was rude, I apologize I didn’t know and even asked him if it was for real or if there was a chance to just get a warning, he said “no, leave now!!”. I asked if I could finish my drink, then my boyfriend and I left quíetly. We aren’t trouble people. Earlier, I saw another bouncer giving another client a warning for smoking inside the place and it was all good. I’ve never been kicked out of place and bc of dancing, ridiculous... now we now those tile/cement couch top are meant for who knows what. We’re not coming back or recommending this place to anyone. We’re from the neighborhood, this place is a no no for customer service. This place really needs to train their bouncers. There’s actually something called having the...
