Long time customer, come in at least once or twice a month. Experience has always been good until this evening, when we were verbally threatened by a very inebriated client. The man was visibly intoxicated when we arrived, yet was served 4+ more shots and/or beers. After he continued to threaten us, we asked to close out and sit outside. The bartender made no mention of the man, who remained inside for another half hour, before stepping out to the patio, again threatening us and another client also dining on the patio. He then returned inside to sit for a while and left with a takeout order, before stepping back out, falling to the ground spilling all his belongings. After he left, we dropped our glasses off inside and the bartender again made no mention of the incident.
I am disappointed in the reaction of the staff to this issue. No steps were take to remove the man, or to make sure we were okay. We had to walk between the man and the exit ramp to leave, and were offered no assistance getting around him, once we made it clear we wanted to get away from the man. This is a great bar, and I get that stuff happens, but there’s also a lot of good bars on the street that proactively handle...
Read moreHello all! I have been to this neighborhood bar at least 7-10 times. Never had a bad experience until last night. The Bartender who is usually very pleasant was extremely rude. My buddies and I walked in there and one forgot his mask which we were going to get him an extra one but the volume and tone of how she reacted really was uncalled for. Let’s just rip the bandaid off, she was screaming telling us “it’s been over a year get a mask”. Who would want to give business to someone who reacts like that? I’m all for supporting small biz and that’s why we choose this place multiple times over covid. If I was a manager or owner I would appreciate this feedback because I’m sure this has cost them multiple customers in the past. Also- the guy next to her at the bar had no mask on and she only had something to say to us? I hope this can be resolved for future customers if people actually want to go here...again don’t mean to complain this just feedback for the owner and future customers. I would give this -1 star if I could. Do not take your business here. Thank me later. Not all hero’s wear capes, I’ll be your hero...

We ask her to repeat herself. She was too busy entertaining 4 people at the bar. Other than that the place was empty. we sat down and waited 5 minutes noone brought us water or even acknowledged us. We got up and headed toward the bar and the hostess turned her back and kept talking to the 4 patrons at the bar. With that we kept moving out the door. Its 2023 Summer in Chicago not 1923 rural Alabama. I advise all African Americans to avoid this place. I am leaving this post as I stand outside. I dare the owner to run the security tape back and see how workers treat people that are costing you loss of revenue or maybe you condone...
