There are a number bars on this stretch of Lincoln Ave, and sometimes it may hard to distinguish many of them for each other. However, there are many as aspects of the The Dime that differentiate it from the other places in the area. First, it’s a Big Ten Bar. If this important to you and you are a fan or or went to a Big Ten school, this is a plus. Second, it has a little something for everyone. They have a number of TVs if you are sports fan and play cool music to listen to if sports isn’t your thing. Third, the food is good. It’s nothing fancy, just good bar good. I’ve been here twice, and enjoyed the food each time. On my first trip I ordered chicken wings, waffle fries and a chicken sandwich stuffed with Mac n cheese (I don’t recall the name). I liked each dish, but the way to go are the wings. They were on par with any of great wings I’ve had in Chicago. My second, and most recent trip, was to try their current Friday special. It’s $25.00 for a double cheeseburger with waffle fries and two hours of all you can drink beer. The burger was good and fries were crispy. My only issue was that pretzel bun was a bit salty. Overall for the price, and with beer included, it’s a good burger at a good price. For beer, I got a buckets of Bud Light and Coronas. Not the best beer in all the world, but for the price, on a Friday night and in Lincoln Park, this is a great deal. Overall, if you are looking for a good bar with good food this a place to check out.

Due to COVID-19 regulations I feel like I can’t properly review this place as I normally would. I ordered the salad and it was a solid salad, wasn’t a fan of the dressing myself but that’s my taste. There was a good wait to finally be seated but once we did the atmosphere of The Dime was very trendy and upbeat. They take pride in being from Chicago which is lovely to see. More on the food side, the chicken was very tender and juicy. Looked forward to my next chicken bite on my salad. I also snagged some waffle fries from my partner and the seasoning on the fries is very delicious. We also had a margarita pitcher which was slightly on the stronger slide but we weren’t complaining! Nice to finally see a place that is a bit heavier handed on the liquor side. It was very refreshing too considering it was a humid day. I’d like to give this place another shot once this pandemic is over to update my review.

The food itself was delicious but the service was the worst I've ever had in a restaurant, and to top it off, they automatically charge you gratuity and they don't tell you up front. The way that you checkout was very confusing which lead tou to not even realize that you were charged gratuity automatically. They hand you a handheld POS system instead of giving you an itemized bill. Our server sat in the back corner on her phone most of the time we were in the restaurant and she seemed really annoyed that she had to serve us. We had to bet to have our drinks refilled, and the restaurant wasn't busy when we came in so there was no excuse for the terrible service. Hopefully the service is not always that poor, but based on the service I will not be back.

The vibes at this place were honestly amazing. The DJ was on point, great music, a perfect mix of current hits and classics that had everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. It’s definitely a great spot if you’re looking for good energy, strong drinks, and a fun atmosphere.

However, I can’t recommend it for the food. We ordered chicken and waffles, wings, and fries and never received any of it. We waited over three hours, constantly asked about our order, and were repeatedly told it was coming, only to realize it was never actually being prepared. They did offer us a round of shots for the inconvenience, but that really didn’t make up for the fact that we waited all night without food in our stomachs.

What made it worse was the lack of accountability. There was only one waitress trying to handle the entire restaurant, and when we tried to speak to the manager, he literally shrugged and walked away instead of trying to help. Meanwhile, we saw people who ordered after us get their food without issue.

We ultimately had to walk across the street for food after our time there. Additionally on the event posting it advertised $25 bottomless mimosas, but when we paid to leave, I was charged $35. Please be weary and check your receipts.

It’s unfortunate because the place has so much potential, but the disorganization and lack of customer care ruined what could’ve been a great night. Come for the vibes and drinksjust...

Came here for Father’s Day after reading tons of amazing reviews, but left severely disappointed.

First off it didn’t say anywhere that this was a 21+ establishment - this isn’t the end of the world but I think it’s very important to note at some point in the RSVP process. The person at the door was very adamant about collecting IDs from my party, yet the table next to us was full of 4 kids boasting to the DJ that they were juniors/seniors in high school so I doubt they were 21.

Ximena was our server and she started off great and really helpful in answering our menu questions. But it went downhill quickly from there. Our 3 mimosas took about 20 minutes to come and when our food arrived it was beyond disappointing - the nachos were so soggy none of the chips “crunched” and the cheese had hardened into a floppy disc, the wings were dry, and the chicken and waffles were dry and lacked flavor. After we were done eating we watched our server stand in the back and chat with her coworkers instead of coming by to check on us or bring the bill. When we got the bill, the prices of our mimosas didn’t match what was listed on the menu or what our server had told us.

I will say the DJ that was playing was excellent and provided fun vibes.

Overall very disappointed and could absolutely not recommend this place if you are...
