Mim's Bakery — Restaurant in Chico

I didn’t really get a great picture of this beautiful cake and other pastries that I got from this amazing amazing bakery. I ordered a tres Leches cake for my wife’s 40th birthday, and it was the best tres leches cake I’ve EVER HAD! I’m from the Bay Area so I had no idea where to find a bakery and I went to a few different places and MIms bakery was beyond a vibe. She definitely delivers, she’s professional and makes you feel like family, the young ladies she has working for her a great. Mim’s will be my go to bakery for all of my needs. I’m absolutely obsessed. Her bakery is the cutest thing especially with her handmade doll houses and all of the tiny beautiful pieces that I believe her sister made for her. Such a beautiful woman. She is an incredible baker and I would recommend her to anyone I know. Whomever answered the phone today 1/14/23 and spoke to my daughter about her wedding cake should be ashamed of themselves. I fully understand not being able to accommodate everyones needs and /or requests. However the condescending and impersonal way you spoke to a bride to be today was beyond just cold but completely inappropriate. You clearly are in the wrong business. Your establishment had no record of her cake tasting, you made no apology for that. You stated no pick ups on Sunday or Monday and crossed a line by drilling that in with you wouldn't come in in on your day off for a ten dollar profit. You are beyond RUDE and should be ashamed of yourself. You left my daughter in tears so for that I want you to know I wouldn't give you our business if you were the last bakery...

Absolutely wonderful. I had the most indulgent AND AMAZING deep dark chocolate mouse desert (ive forgotten the name) but with light milk chocolate mousse INSIDE and it LOOKED an oversized cupcake--but there was NO CAKE INVOLVED! It was some how made entirely of mousse...and then i believe some type of chocolate magic was employed to allow it to take the shape of cupcake. Seriously it was so outrageously decadent that i could not eat all of it at once. And i am a lover of chocolate like you have no idea! If you ever find yourself needing a chocolate fix yet knowing nothing from a grocery store, doughnut shop, or resteraunt will be adequate....you just go directly to Mims.
