Prior to Thursday April 30th, La Cocina Economica had contacted the Grace Community Church about donating 100 burritos to a needy cause within our community. The church contacted a member to direct this gracious donation. A few people were contacted and soon 100 burritos found a home. I am one of the recipients for that 100 burrito donation. Today I called La Cocina Economica and spoke to Chris, a manager, who was a very integral part of making a day very special for many deserving people with their donation of 100 burritos. It was an act of kindness, a humble offering within our community to show support during these trying times. I know that there's some level of love in there someplace, an inspiration to many and all who refused to give up or admit defeat. La Cocina Economica, Chris, and every worker who laid their hands on those 100 burritos did it thanklessly. Another words they didn't raise a neon flag looking for recognition. Their actions came from the heart for our community. It doesn't get much better than that. It doesn't get realer than that! Thanks to "EVERYBODY" that spent their time on or put hands upon any one of those burritos, those 100 burritos!...
Read moreI keep seeing this cool little place when I'm working in Chico and I thought I'd try it because my daughter said it was good and inexpensive however I do not recommend the taquitos it just was not a good taste and they pour sauce and sour cream on it and pile lettuce and tomato on top, I think most restaurants totally Miss the point of taquitos, the reason people order taquitos is for the crunchiness when you pour sauce and sour cream on taquitos and then have to try to eat it with your fingers it's like trying to eat enchiladas with your fingers they're all soggy and totally misses the point. For the love of God please stop piling taquitos with lettuce tomatoes sauces and sour creams this is not what people want, they want a crunchy taquito with a side of sour cream and sauce the only thing I would ever recommend on top of a taquito is some cotija and that's it! The rice and beans were good but I won't get the...
Read moreI've heard rumors of this eatery for years..."The food's excellant," "It's the best in Chico," "The service can't be beat"...etc. So it became time to check out this hidden gem. MEH!! I've had better food from Taco trucks, and better service as well. I tried the Carne Asada fries and the Fajita platter, with chips and salsa. While the meat on the fries was quite tasty, the rest of the meal was thrown together and haphazard at best. The Fajitas were just cooked meat and veggies in a sauce, and wasn't quite worth eating. The rice was void of any flavor, and the salsa tasted like 40 other restaurants in town. The plate of beans and fresh cheese was pleasant, but the chips were small and greasy. I'm assuming it's because this restaurant is away from other, better establishments that it gets better reviews... but I can travel, and will continue to do so to better food. I mean,...
