I ordered pizza and a salad for take out on a Saturday at 6pm. Employee said it would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant in 20 minutes. Waitress/bartender said it would ready in a couple minutes. I sat at the bar which also had several tables. Being a past bartender and waiter from Chicago, I immediately recognized this business was struggling. I was there for 20 minutes and no one offered me a drink. The bar had no one behind it because they were waiting tables in the next room. A couple came in and the waitress said they were on "a wait", despite there being empty tables. This can only mean they were on a wait because they were understaffed. When a kitchen person brought out my order, the pizza was already cold. She gave me the hand held device, used by the staff to take orders and pay bills. She said, "Put your card in the top" then went back into the kitchen, leaving me with the device. I immediately had access to everyone's order/bill in the restaurant. This is not a device you hand to the customer and walk away. It took me several minutes to find my order, access it and pay my bill all on my own. I left the device on the bar because there were no employees present to accept it back. Management was no where to be seen the 20+ minutes I spent in the bar area. Staff were friendly but completely...
Read moreThis is my new favorite restaurant. I've been here multiple times since they've opened and I truly love it. I have a gluten allergy so finding places that are safe to eat is hard and finding places to eat that I have more than one safe food option is even harder. The food here has surpassed my expectations every time! My favorite is their roasted red pepper tomato soup (which is fully gluten-free without the croutons) and dipping the bread in it is amazing! Their sourdough bread is the first technically non-gluten free bread that hasn't made me sick and I don't know what kind of magic they worked to make that happen but I'm not going to pass up the opportunity. They have dishes that are gluten-free without any adjustments but they also have gluten-free penne that can be used for all their pasta dishes. Everything is reasonably priced but they also have a great lunch menu and they are more than happy to help out with any dietary accommodations. They do also have a gluten free menu and my kid has almost cleared his plate everytime. There's also a changing table and step stool for the sink in the bathroom so my kid can wash his hands without me having to hold him up. I definitely recommend...
Read moreWe stopped in for dinner while traveling from VA to IL. Dinner was excellent...Lasagna and Salmon Florentine. Ample amount of food with sides and fresh bread and both were delicious and fresh. We were drawn to the farm to table, healthy vibe of this fairly new restaurant located in the small downtown area of Chillicothe. Our super friendly waitress with beautiful red hair couldn't have been more solicitous or knowledgeable about the menu, which BTW has many other mouth-watering options to try out. Our hats are off to the owner/chef and the staff for working through the breakdown of the building's AC system in the middle of a heat wave without compromising taste or professionalism! Somehow they managed to pump just enough air into the restaurant with fans, etc. to get us all through dinner! We will definitely return on one of our next trips. If you want to try some good, fresh food, healthily prepared and competively priced for similar type offerings, we highly recommend a stop at this casual, comfortable, family friendly restaurant. Read their expansive and interesting menu for lunch and dinner and you...
