Pros: Beautiful atmosphere, Fantastic service, Delicious food
Cons: Other customers being there lol
The Review:
One of the other locations we stopped at when we were on vacation was this little food truck parked in a gravel/shell area. Being huge fans of authentic Mexican flavors, my husband and I decided to swing in and check this place out. Which turned into our families go to restaurant for Lunch/Dinner when we couldn’t decide or get reservations.
Lily’s little Mexico is decorated with beautiful flags and banners, bringing the authentic feel to their little truck. Counter space and tables decorated in flare surround it for you and your loved ones to enjoy sitting down and resting in the summer sun.
Once we got up to the window, we were greeted with smiles and attitudes perfect for customer service. Attentive, attention to details (my shrimp allergy) and promptness was top tier.
But to get to the main reason why you and anyone considering going here should just go here: the food!
Tacos de lenguas - my husbands, my daughters and I’s first time trying beef tongue…and it’s now a household favorite. The flavors of the marinated tongue explode and the meat is so soft it melts in your mouth. I’ve never experienced this type of tenderness on any slice of beef except for filet mignon. The tacos were authentic corn masa, and all the notes and flavors blended fantastically together.
Horchata - authentic, not too sweet, with a delicious flavor of Mexican cinnamon sticks. It was honestly the most refreshing, non gritty horchata I’ve ever had. After drinking it, I felt refreshed, not weighed down. It’s absolutely addictive.
Tacos al pastor - made with refreshing pineapple, cilantro and other salsas, this had a bite to it that didn’t steal away any flavor. It was refreshing will being hot and my mouth is watering now remembering it. The pork was so juicy, the corn masa barely held it together with all the juice pouring out of it (if you order, make sure to have wet wipes on hand)
All and all, making this review and reading it to my husband…makes us wish we lived closer (we loved Virginia so much, we’ll be moving in a few years to Accomack county). Once back, we plan to be...
Read moreWent to Chincoteague Island yesterday for a leisurely drive with friends we were visiting. We always wanted to try one of the food trucks that served mexican cuisine. There were no lines at Lily's and we wanted to try them based on other Google reviews. Staff were pleasant and our order was brought out quickly, less than 10 minutes. We ordered a carnitas and an asada lilys special burrito and chicken quesadilla. The tortillas were soft, warm and fresh. The proteins were bite size, perfect for eating food with your hands and not a knife and fork. The quesadilla had a nice amount of diced chicken and fresh melted cheese with a plentiful side of rice and refried beans (or you can get salad). Hot and extremely fresh, I think I'd like mine to have some of their delicious homemade guacamole for that extra flavor, but overall excellent. The asada and carnitas burritos were filled with rice, refried beans, meat of your choice, or veggie, homemade guacamole, cheese and we added sour cream. They were full of flavor and absolutely fantastic! I think the carnitas was my favorite, tender and full of marinated pork, but the tender marinated steak and chicken were also flavorful. I have to say all the items are large and shareable for a reasonable price. The food is definitely authentic with fresh ingredients as other posters mentioned. They also have homemade hot and mild sauces for the food. My friend who loves spicy food said the spicy sauce was not very spicy, but she remarks that about almost all spicy foods. Overall, I will definately give them my business again. Note for vegetarians, they have a wonderful selection of options, unsure of tortilla ingredient though. Read moreWent end of October. So glad they were still open this late in the season as many of the other local resturants have closed. Staff was very friendly, I think only one of them spoke fluent english but not sure. There looked to be some confusion when trying to communicate with other staff members. Food was amazing. Opened until 7pm. We ordered a sopes, a tostada, 2 quesadillas, and a burrito. Never had sopes before and it was really good with asada. The tostada was fine but I've have them before. Quesadillas were amazing. Especially the shrimp. They shrimp were huge and they were packed in there and falling out. The chicken one we got was also amazing. We got it with the beans and rice sides. Also delicious and worth the upgrade. Burrito was also huge like a chipotle burrito. Amazing with carnitas and also came with guacamole. Total for us was...
