Went there for family lunch. We had dim sum and a few dishes. Overall, food was mid to bad. Service was bad. I'm not coming back here and I suggest you find somewhere else. If you're looking for roast duck, there's a good HK-style option in the area. When we brought our concerns to management, they apologized but no sense of sincerity. Disappointing
Service No one came by to check on us, brought us porridge with no bowls, brought soup with bowls but no one served it (not every restaurant does this but overall staff wasn't helpful, wouldn't clear plates, not attentive), when we requested server to cut some of the dim sum she was visibly annoyed she had to go find scissors, server spilled on one of us while serving and couldn't be bothered with bringing extra napkins to help clean up.
Dishes I would avoid roasted duck, high price and low quality. Skin had some crispiness but lacked flavor. Meat was tough, like overcooked, and lacked seasoning. Sliced fish porridge not good, had bones, fish slices had skin, big pieces of romaine lettuce hard to eat, doesn't have the silkiness of a good fish porridge Beef chow fun not good, lacked flavor, no wok hei, excessive red onion, scallion and chives
Dim sum Har gao, sui mai were rubbery, rice rolls, chicken feet were fine, not any better than other places. Bbq pork pastry, fried shrimp...
Read moreThis is a solid 4-star Cantonese Seafood restaurant that happens to serve Peking Duck. It’s been a while since our last visit and the food got better since our last visit. We have not tried the Peking Duck yet, but will do so soon. The dim sums were very good as well as other dishes. The flaky BBQ pastry (叉烧酥)was excellent and is recommended. The quality here now is comparable with those Cantonese restaurants in Rowland Heights area. Stop by if you haven’t already. A good option in Chino Hills.
Update 1: we came back and tried the Peking Duck. It was good and the size was reasonable as well for the price. We also tried the eel rice, walnut shrimps and several veggies. By the way 夫妻肺片(literal translation: husband and wife lung slices) does come with peanuts, so be careful if someone in your party has peanut allergy. By the way, this is one of the hardest Chinese dishes to translate into English properly. All told, it was a good dinner that’s worthy of a 4-star rating.
Update 2: we came here with some friends for dim sum. The dishes we had, such as saomei, chicken feet, radish cake, porridge (皮蛋瘦肉粥), stirred fried rice noodles (肉絲炒米粉), etc. were all quite good. Actually, I think it is the top dim sum place in Chino Hills, quite an honor considering there are around 8-10 places that serve dim sum in our...
Read moreWe went to celebrate my father's 88 year old birthday at lunch today, as requested by this restaurant we called yesterday to make reservation at 12 pm with pre order of one Peking duck. At sharp 12 pm when 4 of 6 dinners arrived, they put the roasted Peking duck on the table, when we asked the waiter " can you serve the duck a little later? we want to order some other dishes", the waiter replied " The duck was ordered for 12 pm, we can't wait, we have a 50 persons group to be served today", honestly I have never seen such arrogant attitude and rude reply in anywhere in the world. We were pushed to place order and food were served with extremely unfriendly waiters, they gave you the feeling why you have chosen to come to dine at our restaurant? We feel we were punished for coming here. The Peking duck turned to a cold dish, we ordered noodles and Taiwanese style BBQ Eel on Sticky rice, noodles are barely at average and the Eel on sticky rice has only 5 pieces of 1 inch eel which was priced at $29.95, not only over priced but also poorly tasted. If the rate for this place can be minus, I would rate it -10. We would never go to this place any more. The place only looks good, but service is horrible, no one should be tortured for paying them, and they serve you cold...
