The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — Restaurant in Chino Hills

It's 8:01 on a Saturday morning and I've already been awake for two hours, thirty minutes of those two hours I've been on the road. I'm pretty grumpy right now, but you know what MIGHT cheer me up? My nice, hot cup of coffee. You know what MIGHT make me even grumpier? Unfriendly, inattentive employees at the coffee house.

As I walked into the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, I made immediate eye contact with and smiled at the female employee at the register. No smile. No "good morning". She turned and started walking towards the far end of the counter. My smile quickly turned to frown. I stood at the register, waiting to place my order for a few minutes while her back remained turned to me. Thinking she might be busy, I felt like I waited a long enough time before I called out "good morning" in her direction. Instead of acknowledging my greeting, she turned, walked to the register and said "What can I get started for you?".

I ordered my black coffee. I paid. She turned around and poured the coffee. She handed it to me. That's it.

No "have a good day". No "here you go".

Look, I get it. I didn't want to have to work at MY JOB Saturday morning either. Sometimes, that just happens. Especially if you're going to work in a coffee house, I kinda feel like you gotta be that "ray of sunshine" for the customers; not an over the top, so happy you're annoying type, but, at least pleasant.

Since the Coffee Bean's coffee is pretty good black, the rating is based primarily on the experience. Oh, and in case you're wondering, I made it to MY job that...

Wow~ how come my review was deleted for this place?? It's very interesting how they could remove my review and control the freedom of speech in the United States. I left a review about my bad experience with their customer service that had been provided by a specific worker who has piercings on her face and tattoos, and some how they removed my review after they contacted me? This is very interesting how you guys are trying to control the freedom of speech and wish I could do something more about it but I will leave my review again. The girl who i think the manager here or at least a floor manager doesn't know how to control the situation and doesn't know how to math 3.5+1 =4.5. I was told that they didn't have jalapeño croissant, so I asked if I can get bagle with cream cheese, because I already paid and bagle with cream cheese makes same amount with the croissant. However, the girl was saying to me like they could do it but only this time. And I'm like what do you mean this time? I'm paying for my food not getting it for free!! Lol long story short, they are control your reviews people. Check back your reviews....

This is typical Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in that product quality and service are extremely good (I was in at 10:00 on a weekday, and service was still relatively fast) There are a couple of complaints though. First, seating is not the best, with most tables accommodating only two people. Also, because of the lay out, seating feels "cramped". Next, cabinetry is showing signs of age. Some cabinet doors have damaged hardware, and baseboards throughout are heavily water damaged. Finally, parking in the area is "challenging". I made the mistake of parking in the lot to the south, not realizing that I was now directly next to the Chick-fil-A drive through. If you're a fan of CBTL, the quality and service make the stop worth it, but I personally suggest grabbing that...
