The good: fresh-sqeezed orange juice! The bad: ssslowww service! While service is kinda friendly, I cannot confim the quality of the meals being served here because of slow service 🐌. In the time it took a busy car wash service to clean our Dodge SUV (about 50 minutes), my wife & I waited 20 minutes to be seated, received drinks 7 - 10 minutes after, then spent the rest of the time (about 20 minutes) waiting for our waiter to come by and take our order. How does a car wash service hustle better than this small restaurant? So, I look outside the restaurant to compare the type of people employed at the car wash: mostly latin people (30, 40 year olds). The restaurant has a young crew! Is this really an issue of inexperience and/or lack of motivation? Or, perhaps an issue of leadership or the lack thereof? Not sure. It could be either one or both.
Lastly: atmosphere. I don't believe "quaint" really describes this place. One reviewer described it as such, but I do not understand why. Eating areas are a bit small due to the compact nature of the building. The tarp that covers the patio area looks very...
Read moreLet me start by saying I was really looking forward to this place. I've heard how good it is. Maybe I was just expecting more.. First, there aren't aot of tables or parking. So you'll be waiting a while to sit. Especially if you have a larger group like we did. 8. Second, we were sat in what can only be described as an outdoor greenhouse. The heat was so bad several people in our party stayed upset stomach through the afternoon. Third, the service was not very attentive. I had to finally ask for more water. Fourth. The food was a mixed bag. Several of us got the breakfast burritos. You couldn't get dryer. Had to drown it in catsup and salsa. The chilaquilas were ok. Nothing to rave about. But my dad enjoyed his breakfast sandwich The highlight was meeting this older gentleman that had served 9 years into the navy on supply ships. My brother bought their table breakfast and he reached out and stopped me at the end. He thanked us I thanked him for doing what he did during the...
Read moreThe restaurant is a little small, but that actually adds to the charm. There is no host/greeting podium or counter, so as I walked in I stopped to figure out where to go and who to ask for a seat. To that effect, I noticed none of the employees were in a uniform or had name tags, so I had no idea who the employees even were. Eventually, a man in plain clothes pointed to a seat in the distance and said I could sit there. The direction he pointed had about 4 open tables, leaving me to slowly walk in the general direction constantly looking back until he said, "Yes, right there". I had the bbq chicken sandwich, which was pretty good. I liked that it came on sourdough bread; however there was little to no bbq sauce so it was more like a chicken sandwich. The server was polite and friendly, he made sure to keep refreshments full and bring more napkins. If you want to find a local spot in Chino that has a quaint feel and a good selection of food, you may want to...
