Brew Da Bean — Restaurant in Christiansburg

I'll begin with saying this is a gorgeous little shop with inside and outside dining. I'm not sure if they do events or not but it looks like a great place to host smaller events! When i arrived, there was only one other guest who had already sat down with his items. As there wasn't much going on the crew was just gathered chatting (which I don't mind at all) however, I was not greeted, and I did not get the welcoming vibe that I expect from a small Cafe, and instead the vibe itself felt more chain cafe like. During this visit, I only ordered an iced latte. The pricing was right on point but the coffee was bitter and I can almost say I tasted the acidity of it. On the up side, it was not overly sweet like many places and it was ready very quickly. I did not order food on this visit but the menu appears to be very extensive and would have options for nearly anybody. Some of the offerings, like the po boy and shrimp items are not something you see often so the menu is a good change of pace if you're looking for something...

Have you ever noticed that Starbucks is cramped, doesn't have enough outlets, and that the general atmosphere has turned...clinical? That's to say nothing of the ridiculous prices.

I did, which is why I'm glad I happened upon Brew Da Bean, a little coffee and lunch shop in Christiansburg. Good prices for an enormous amount of food, space to stretch your legs (even if its busy), great customer service, and--perhaps most importantly--an actual hospitable atmosphere. Oh, and its local by the way.

When I went in the first time it was very good the person there and knew what they were doing the next time I went in that person had left in the new person was kind of snippy. I guess I didn't order a drink correctly according to her. The next time I went back there was a sign that read closed. I haven't been back. I took a chance and stopped and it was open again and the woman that waited on me was very kind and gracious and oh by the way their prices are much better than Starbucks. I had a latte.
