Update: Unfortunately, I'm set on a 2-star review for this place, which is a shame because I love the concept and was really looking forward to it coming here. Mostly, the food is just way overpriced and not that good. It's a place serving fairly low-quality pasta dishes but dressing up as a next-gen fast-casual diner (including paper straws UGH, but in Chipotle's case it's forgivable because they're otherwise good). Honestly I like the pasta bowls at Domino's a lot more. The times I've been, the Coke Freestyle machine has been out of a lot of drinks (today they didn't have Dr. Pepper or Diet Dr. Pepper among others). And when I went to dump my trash, the trash was overflowing, with lots of trash sitting on the edge of the canister. I tried and wanted to give this place a chance, but at this point it's pretty clear what kind of place this is.
Original review follows.
This review is based on Opening Day. I have 2 positives and 2 negatives to share, and I'll get negatives out of the way first.
I ordered two dishes, the Buffalo Chicken Mac being one. This is probably just a personal thing, but I wasn't fond of the mac & cheese itself. I like mine creamy and cheesy, but the cheese sauce was runny and sat mostly at the bottom of the bowl, and the elbow macaroni wasn't really cooked to my liking either. I did like the chicken though.
The other negative is the atmosphere, specifically the lack of indoor seating. I hope they plan more seating, because there was literally just two 4-seat tables and two 2-seat tables, and that's it. But realistically, it's not a big space and there wouldn't be a lot of room for much more seating. So it seems this is meant to primarily be a take-out restaurant (which is sad for someone like me who values the dine-in experience); but on the other hand, why would it have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine if it's not meant to be a dine-in experience?
For positives, the other dish I got was the buttered noodles with added meatballs, and it was really delicious. The meatballs are definitely worth the upcharge. I look forward to trying more of the other dishes in the coming days (and possibly adjusting my review score accordingly). And, everyone was friendly. So, I really want to love this place and hope to eventually bump it up a star or two; but the seating will likely be a barrier for now,...
Read moreWe are regular customers of this shop over a year , 90% of the time we order and pay over on phone, then we just go to a counter where there are orders with the customer's name on the food bag and take the food. We don't need to go to the counter or pay anything anymore because everything is done over the phone. If I guess correctly, the person who takes our order over the phone is always a robot and they will ask us to tap our bank card number, expiration date and CVV then they complete the order. We have done that too many times when ordering food at this store. But today we came to pick up the food and they said they didn't see the order and we showed them that my bank had been charged. If they said there was some mistake I would have no problem and lost the money, but what they said made me very upset was that from the past until now their company , their store have never accepted payment over the phone.what’s???????? 😡😠
I asked so why many times before I did like that and still came to get food normally but now I heard this absurd statement. A guy swore that he worked here for 2 years and never let customers pay over the phone. If anyone did that, they would be fired. It sounds unreasonable and very funny. If your company doesn't have a rule for customers to pay by phone, has the robot always made that rule and collected the money? Where does that money go when I've received my food many times before? If the company doesn't have that rule, why did they install the software to charge that money into the system for the robot to take orders????
In my life I have never given any store 1 star, no matter how bad or bad they are, but this is the first time I give 1 star to this store because I see too many unreasonable things here and I need to speak up so that everyone can pay...
Read moreFirst visit to this eatery. Walk in, no one waiting in line. Stood for a couple of minutes while staff, first walked away as I reached the register. Then she turned around still looking at me and proceeded to retire her apron a few times. While still waiting to place my order keep in mind that she never once asked me if I was ready or offered to take my order. Two other ladies walked up beside me and she pounced at the register to take their order. At this point I asked is there a special line that I missed since I've been standing here waiting this called her off surprise another girl from behind the counter asked what was going on and offered up excuses after I said blatantly I'm being ignored and that's bad for my first time here. When she finally asked how could she help me I told her it was my first time here and asked about two of the dishes and she seemed confused with the question. Now as I'm leaving with my order I'm concerned that something might have been done to it. Best due to the other person obviously expected me to cause a scene cuz when she brought the food out to me and I said thank you she immediately turned around looking at me like what what what what what what?? Which I repeated again I said thank you and proceeded on my way. I hope the owners see this as in my retirement I travel this area of the country and recommend restaurants to every vet in law enforcement officer I know and apparently they don't want people over 30 in here since they're...
