I don't like to write bad reviews but in this case customer service was awful. 1 start for only taking my order. I place a soup order to go. I took it to work for my lunch. I open the container, as I was eating i found a bug after another one. I was placing them in a napkins to show them I found those bugs in there. I continue eating more thinking I won't find more, unfortunate I did. I was gross out and lost my appetite. So i toss the container and took the napking with me after work. I show them my concern and wanted a refund so I can eat somewhere else. The lady told me it's summer season, our containers are clean, we wash are veggies, let me talk to my manager. Among so many explanation and excuses she ask me for the container. I told her I place them in a napkin and throw the container with food. She told me all restaurants do that, they ask for the food. I told her no, this was an order to go I was busy at work to go after I saw the bugs. Anyhow I ask for a refund and she refuse to do so. I was so upset she didn't took care of this matter correctly. So that's why I'm writing this. Never eating there again. So if u find bugs is because is summer...

I'm giving it a FIVE!

Was around the marina and really wanted to have chinese. Saw this and decided to step in. Best decision i've made.

The place is a small restaurant overlooking the marina. Just around 6-8 chairs inside and a few outside. The place was empty when we dined.

Basically the meal is prepared in three steps.

  1. Base: I went for the Udon noodles and my friend decided to have a go at the brown rice (the base comes with spring onion+carrot+cabbage)2)Ingredients: i added chicken, shrimps, calamari and peanuts for the toppings. My friend chose shrimps, chicken and fried garlic (would recommend fried garlic!) 3)iwok Sauces: I love spicy food so the waitress suggested the Korean Chilli. Veronica had the Oyster Sauce.

Mine was fantastic! Loved it! I really want to try the other flavours, but next time i will be trying the exact same thing because the sauce is perfect.

Veronica's wok wasn't spicy so it'd be better of for the ones who like food less spicy. It was good too.

I'd recommend this place to anyone who loves chinese food. A must visit and worth your money. 70-75 for two.

The staff are...

I have lived in several major cities all over the country and I don't care what anyone says: this is the BEST quality Chinese fast food of my 35 year life. I am picky about EVERYTHING- i either love it or hate it and I loved EVERY LAST THING HERE! Vegetables are generously sized and the meat is so fresh. Instead of more breading than meat like everywhere else, this meat is juicy with no tendons and full flavor. The noodles are perfectly cooked in house sauces. I usually stay away from big portion sizes in general, because in my experience it equals tasteless ingredients, but somehow this place has it all figured out so you get quantity and quality. I haven't been this happy with a restaurant since moving to SOCAL. Thank you so much to the knowledgeable help from the woman at the counter and the hard working young men who cooked and delivered each of our many selections to our table as soon as they were ready. Just look at the picture of a single piece of chicken cut in half from the orange peel plate- it's like what you would expect from a friend's home, not a...

The full chapter for my review of iWok is still unwritten. While I have only eaten a small amount of their menu, currently, I have some opinions based on several dining exoeriences. In summary, iWok is a hidden gem for Chinese cuisine in the East Chula Vista/Eastlake Area. The staff is incredible with accommodating special requests like the chicken and vegetables with no sauce in my picture. Flavors of their food are incredible and portions of their servings are generous. The tables and seating are hard and designed for an eat and go atmosphere. I will be taking a more comprehensive tour of their menu in July, 2023, and will report back any significant findings in this or a follow-up review.

I ordered through door dash and I didn’t get what I ordered. When I called they said that the reason I didn’t get cashews in my chicken is bc they ran out and that are actually taking it off the menu! WTH! The girl on the phone couldn’t offer me a comp or any useful info! All she said was that they do t handle that?? What your restaurant doesn’t handle complaints when you make bad food and mistakes on orders??? In the end I got stuck with over-fried dried out chicken wings and chicken soaked in sauce with mushy zucchini! Sooo disappointed for being my first time ordering from them. NEVER ORDERING THERE AGAIN.
