MJ's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Chula Vista

I had just gotten into town with my husband for his birthday and was looking for somewhere to grab a late night drink. I called this bar at 1030pm and asked them how late they would be open that night, and the bartender said she would be open until 1:30AM. We arrived by 1045 at the latest (it was a 6 minute car ride), and walked into the bar, all eyes on us. There were about 7 Hispanics sitting at the bar. Cool. I'm not a hateful person. But they all stopped talking and just stared at us rudely as we walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender, whom I had JUST spoken on the phone with less than 20 minutes ago, walked into the back, got another woman, and she came up to my husband and I, didnt even say hi or any kind of greeting, and promptly told us we would be only able to have one drink and then would have to leave because they are closing. I'm a bartender. I get that things change. But how do you go from a 130 close time to an 11 close time within 20 minutes?? Neither that woman nor the bartender had any logical reason for why I was told 130 on the phone and now all of a sudden they are closing. Whatever. We got our one beer, sat and drank it, and watched the bartender proceed to give the people at the end of the bar numerous drinks and no talk of closing the entire time. Went there on Thurs May 11th. The two girls working there are Arlene and Angelina. Whoever is the Younger of the two with the big hips was Extraordinarily Rude to us and to our party. Don't they know, there are Plenty of other Bars around, we can vote with our pocketbook, so to Speak. That younger lady with horse hips was extremely RUDE to several Other people, too. I don't know what her Problem is... but, She is losing Customers for the business. That is NO WAY to treat your Valuable...

OK. So was just looking for a place to grab a quick bite and a drink while we waited for my son to finish a birthday party. Boy were we happy we selected MJ is Maria was amazing the drinks were super cold and as a great side bar her food was fresh and made with love it. We will definitely be back to this seemingly not...
