The best restaurant around! Managers Hass and Mike make it the best! ... However... I rarely leave negative reviews, but the customer service I experienced with the African-American woman who was in charge on July 10, 2025, warrants a serious note of concern — especially for those who expect basic accountability when something goes wrong. Though the top managers at this restaurant, Haas and Mike, are phenomenal, the African-American (alleged) assistant-manager is extremely unprofessional. This woman deducted points from my rewards app when handling my phone's app. I came in intending to use a promotional offer from the official Golden Corral app. The process seemed straightforward. When showing the deal at the register, this woman not only didn't give me the reward, but she deleted 100 points from my account! Frustrating, yes, but these things happen. What shouldn't happen is the rude and unprofessional response I received from this woman when I politely asked for assistance on my next visit, which was the very next day. She claimed I made the error, which is totally untrue. The previous day, she had my phone in her hand, scanned the app, and deleted 100 points from my account. She did it! Incredibly and totally dishonestly, she said, “It’s not my fault. You did it,” and she stormed off. When I tried to stop her, she said, "You did it!" when she knows she scanned the app, making the points disappear. A customer couldn't scan the app even if he wanted to. It's an action that only the restaurant employees can do. This rude woman offered no workaround nor made any effort to involve a top manager who knows how to handle such customer issues. Her attitude was defensive and apathetic, more concerned with absolving herself of blame than resolving this loyal customer's situation. That kind of behavior will not be tolerated and is totally unacceptable in face-to-face customer service, especially at a national chain that encourages customers to use its app for deals. Again, what’s most disappointing is this woman's complete lack of accountability. Even though the restaurant doesn’t directly manage the app, this woman should at least handle such a situation with professionalism and empathy. She absolutely did not! ... Eventually, the top managers heard my concern and, as i knew they would, made everything right! My message to the customers: Do not try interacting with this woman if you have a concern. Ask for Haas or Mike, as they are always welcoming, helpful and empathetic to customers who have any issues. Haas and Mike make this restaurant the very...
Read moreThis Golden Corral at 3330 S. Cicero Avenue, Cicero, IL. 60804 is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. This was our first visit and it will be our last. We dined here on Sept. 14, 2024 and where do I start; at the entrance my brother's girlfriend got picked/harassed by the cashier & lady manager because apparently she could not enter the restaurant with her purse because it was too big. Her purse was a medium size fashionable purse. So she ended up having to leave her purse in the car to re-enter the rest. We should've just left but we had paid & we were already there. Upon her returning to the restaurant the African-American male security that was there was also harassing- trying to intimidate -pick on her again -he said to her what are you lost? Did you lose something? As she was trying to enter to unite with us. Secondly, when we got to sit down, we felt like we were in a jail type of environment because the security passed by our table numerous times - looking at us and our plates - we even have videos of it- making us feel harassed like if we were eating in a prison lunchroom. That in itself made us lose our appetite. Not to mention, the food was not good at all- certain trays were either too salty or too bland. The only one that provided good service was the lady that brought the coffee and picked up the plates from our table. And lastly, the worst for us was seeing other ladies & men carrying even larger purses than my brother's girlfriend and carrying totes and huge men purses -to which we felt that the treatment we received was very unfair! If you want to eat at a place that makes you feel harassed, in jail and pay over $100.00 for 4 people just to get an awful taste of lunch, awful customer service with being harassed- intimidated by their security in an awful-hostile environment- then this is the place for you. But as for me & family we'll...
Read moreBest Golden Coral I've ever been to. The food was super fresh and perfect. They have the best carrot cake (Better than the outback steakhouse carrot cake). Coffee was good (I'm picky). They serve a house blend which is better than the breakfast blend served at most pancake houses. There are some no-sugar desert options (They aren't clearly marked as such but the calorie count is a big clue and the staff is able to advise). The steak (dinner only) is seasoned to pair with their steak sauce (A1 style with raisins, it's good sauce). I prefer a montreal type seasoning (that doesn't need steak sauce) but the steak itself was good quality and cooked correctly. The staff can get a bit busy which is annoying when you'd like to request a cup of coffee or drink refill. I'll be buying the 32 oz drink instead of the 16oz from now on for that reason. The salad bar is good. Fresh Romain and ingredients. Not I didn't see a vinegrette available which was disappointing but their Italian dressing was very good. Their fried shrimp and roasted pork are awesome. Pot roast and pork chops was good. I suspect it was an off day, but the carrot cake on my 2nd visit was super salty. The staff removed it after my sister talked to the manager. I suspect they get it made somewhere else and delivered to the store. The staff listened and checked on it at least instead of ignoring things. It's a popular place and can be crowded but the line to get in wasn't too long on a Monday at 4pm. Went twice and the food was super fresh both times. The only complaint is not having my own access to drinks and then having to tip for service that should really be self serve. The hot coffee I could see as a legal issue, but that's annoying. Overall if you are on the fence, go for it. If you get good table service,...
