Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Cicero

This is my second time at this location, the first time I purchased the acai bowl at this location, the staff were in the back talking before we say hello, is anybody here before they came out. Finally they attended to us, the acai bowl was so watery and liquidy, we have drove far so we couldn't take it back, on getting there today i notified the sales representatives of the last acai bowl she said " we always make a large bowl at the beginning of the day and today acai bowl is frozen because they premade it this morning". After the purchase the acai bowl was not tasting fresh and it feel and tastes like a frozen ices, we can't even scoop it out because it's like a rock. Not freshly made. I have purchased several time at the new location on 119th. The acai bowl is always made fresh and tastes good. I'm never going to this Cicero...

I attempted to go in and place an order for the 1st time. I was really looking forward the jerk chicken wrap. Upon entering, a woman seated in the lobby was conversing with the lady behind the bar about her birth control. Odd conversation in a place of business, but whatever. I go to the register to order and the lady in the lobby walks up to the register and plainly says that they're not serving food at the moment because they were closing shortly. It's 755p and they are supposed to close at 9p. How is this the policy to stop serving food well over and hour before close??? Poor customer service. I guess I won't be returning to try that jerk wrap. They don't want my business anyway.

Also, the lady behind the counter was not wearing a mask. How is that ok in the middle of a pandemic??? This...

I love a tropical Smoothie but I think they hired two young women or teenagers to work in the morning this summer of 2025 and they are making things wrong. They put the sauce that comes on the side in the quesadilla instead and they put so much or not enough?? They also say they don’t have acai bowls??? I know they didn’t wanna make it and they wanted to keep talking and giggling with each other. You’re there to work not giggle and stand around saying you don’t have things in stock?? and they’re on their phones tbh whole time. People were standing there waiting and no one said a word like hi what do you need or anything? Train your employees...
