Come back again after a really long time. Got there today Friday June 1/2018 around 9 AM. I work in restaurants for 20 years already downtown Chicago and I know pretty good about a great experience and customer service. They sat me down pretty fast, and waited for at least 15 minutes to get someone to help me, lots of waitresses, they were helping other tables next to me first when they got there after me and it was just me. Finally they helped me out, placed my order pretty quick and order some coffee, the waitress never brought my coffee but she was bringing coffee to the other tables, I was like: What type of service is this seriously?. Waited a little bit more and nothing happened. I dont usually do this, sorry but I dont think I deserve that type of service, I stood up and left, but before I asked a lady about the manager, waited in the front for him, and I'm not gonna lie, he was really nice and polite and he said he was sorry about that, and I know that it may not be his fault, he gave me his business card with 10 dlls discount for next visit, but before I talked to him, I heard 2 ladies leaving after me for the same reason, I asked one of the supervisors what the problem was, and he said some people called off and they were short stuff in back of the house (Kitchen). And I told him that I understand bc I deal with things like that often. But I'm just letting you guys know about my experience. That's sad, and I dont know if I'd come back again or soon. I doubt it. And dont get me wrong bc I'm not the type of customer that complains about everything, or act stupid or rude with employees when it's not even their fault. ONLY THING EDIBLE was the bread and sausage. Egg whites had black IDK grill chips, burnt food from grill they didn't clean before cooking mine. Eggs looked like they were thrown across the grill and used to scrape the scraps and clean the grill with my eggs. THEY WERENT white. Eggs had black stuff brown stuff yellow stuff and watery. If I can't identify I'm not going to eat it. HAD TO COOK MY OWN EGGS WHICH REALLY PISSED ME OFF.
IHOP, keep operating with nastiness and you'll be outta business before you can salvage any gains. Look at Walgreen, Dollar Stores, Famly Dollars, KFC. WHERE ARE THE STANDARDS.. They knew that was wrong and no one cared about quality. KARMA IS DON'T DO WHAT YOU DON'T WANT DONE TO YOU!!! We know fast as one closes another pops up like wackamole. DONT THINK YOURE UNTOUCHABLE.
We get it, short staffed and swamped. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU GIVE UP ON QUALITY BUT GUESS YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE BRAND AND PERHAPS YOU YOURSELF GAVE UP ON IT.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT everyone ordering is not lazy and don't want to cook. its a way for people to get food to homebound loved ones. my group. surgeries. I had a spinal fusion, trying to get some sustenance. Ordered food. Payed for food. Still had to cook, don't care if only 1 egg.

   Read moreThis message is in regards to serve named OSCAR at your Cicero Illinois location, he served us on 5/6/21 at around 11am-noon. We had originally stepped into the location to come to a 30 minute wait. This was fine as we understand limited capacity and restrictions. We specifically asked for a TABLE and not a booth as we have two guest who are fairly large individuals. Once our name was called the original server (not oscar) led us to a booth. We had reiterated that we specifically asked for a table and not a booth and she said unfortunately this is all we have at the moment and it would be another 20 minute wait for a table. It was very obvious that we were flustered as there was a free table off in the distance near other patrons. The server said this table was off limits due to spacing, but the spacing between that table was much farther than the booths were from already existing booths where customer were currently eating so that made no sense. In comes Oscar to the rescue. He overheard the situation at hand and he made it a point to take us to a closed portion of the restaurant. He mentioned that side was closed because they were short on bus boys to clean the tables but he took it upon himself to clean the table for us as well as attend to us as a server. I must say he was very polite and went above and beyond during this as well as the entirety of our visit and I would love to bring his kind heart and willingness to go above and beyond for our family....
