Taqueria Aguascalientes — Restaurant in Cicero

We are frequent customers at this small fast food restaurant. We sat down at a table of 6, since it was not crowded. A lady came up to ask of we can move a smaller table. I looked around & noticed it was 2 sitting in front of us at 6 person table and 4 behind us at 6 person table. I told her that we were fine and that we did not want to move. I was talking to her in English and when I said that, she kept on insisting and that if we did not move than that we would have to move if the restaurant got crowded to accommodate those people. Keep in mind that the restaurant was not crowded, as I told her if that is how she treats the customers. She replied "talk to me in Spanish" I said no you understand what I'm saying. At this point she was being very rude and unprofessional and left. Our waitress came over and asks us if we can move, we said no and she didn't insist. She took our order and left. At this point we were being looked by other customers and very unlepleasant atmosphere. We came to eat, not to stay, our morning breakfast was ruined and left with a disgusting outlook of this place. They served our food as to rush us out of the restaurant and more than likely will not come back to this place. I work for Marriott Hotels and know the hospitality buisness and will share this experience with my family, friends, and colleagues. My boyfriend and I stopped stopped by this past Thursday at 9pm. We ordered 2 steak tacos and 2 steak gorditas. The steak tacis were good and they were served with a lot of meat. On the other hand, the gorditas were not steak, as we had ordered, but they were filled with carbe de res. Both my boyfriend and I agreed that the meat tasted different from the tacos, until we realized what the taste was. We informed our waitress and when she came back from speaking to the cooks, she told us a lie saying that it was steak meat, just that they prepare res and steak in the same way. This was the biggest lie I have ever heard. There is a HUGE taste difference from steak and carne de res. When we informed the owner of what had happened, she backed up what the waitress had said. Also, the chips and guacamole we had ordered at the beginning, did not arrive intol we had finished eating and the waitress did not stop by our table after dropping off our food. We ordered a 3rd steak gordita and guess what, the steak meet that the gordita was filled with further confirmed our suspicions that the gorditas we received were indeed made with carne de res and that instead owning up to their mistake, they covered it up. It was not a good experience due to the lack of good service and honesty. This shows just how far this restaurant goes to cover up their mistakes and the lack of value in honesty and...

If it looks empty…it’s for a reason.

This was a place that use to hit the spot like no other. Growing up in the northside and coming down here would be just for the Gorditas. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. We ordered a gordita de doña cuca, and looked nothing like the picture. It tasted like old stew meat where they threw a splash of red sauce.

The tacos de lengua were half assed chopped. My daughter had literally strips of lengua about 3 in long. It was boiled tongue with no flavor.

The asada gordita was dry, again no flavor.

The al pastor gordita didn’t look like al pastor meat. It was packed with meat but so dry and tasteless. (Picture for reference).

Most of us would agree, if the tacos, gorditas, etc are good, the consumer will not have a problem paying for them. But when the food is this bad, I have a problem with it.

Service was alright. The waitresses are friendly and tentive but until you order your food. After that they couldn’t care less if you need your plates cleared up or a refill on anything. We had to get up to ask for water 3 times and eventually again for a to go container.

My husbands micheleda, was more tomato mix than beer flavor. I had a hibiscus drink with tamarind vodka that was delicious. That was the only taste worthy menu item I was satisfied with. Unfortunately we will no longer be consumers of...
