Discount Superstore — Local services in Cicero

It is uncommon for me to leave reviews so do not take the following with a grain of salt if you are buying an electronic item from this store.

Upon arriving to the store, I noticed that 70% of the inventory was electronics and the remainder was random items laid on the tables. There is a sign posted around the store "DO NOT UNBOX ITEMS" so when I found a boxed electronic, I followed the instructions. Also, I was interested in an electronic baby rocker (unboxed) so I was able to ask the associate to plug it in to make sure it was functional. It did come on, but it did not work properly. Of course, I decided not to buy the item.

When I arrived home and unboxed the purchased electronic item, I noticed it did not work. I called the store to inquire about this because I just left not even an hour ago. The store worker told me that they would not accept the item back and that it was my responsibility to ask for someone to test the item prior to purchasing. I did point out that the sign on the sales floor said "DO NOT OPEN BOXED ITEMS" but somehow I was supposed to ask anyways for the electronic to be tested? He also informed me that they had a non-fundable and no exchange policy.

This is understood, however, for this policy to be effective, it only makes sense that the electronics sold are properly tested before they are boxed and put out on the floor for sale.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING BUT...

Visited for the first time today 9/27/25. Walked in, wasn’t greeted properly, the cashier waved with his hands lol. I stood in line while waiting for the customers ahead of me to be checked out. After he check the customers out, he picked up his phone and leaned back in his chair and proceeded to talk and never acknowledged me, never called me to the register. I had to ask him was he ready to check me out. I believe I heard him say that I was defensive, not sure because he was on the phone. Another observation was as I was walking out of the store, there was a man walking in and he was greeted verbally! “What’s up boss!” Lol smh. People fail to realize how amazing customer service and attentiveness to the customers can go a long way! And, also make you and your establishment more memorable and people are more likely to return. I won’t be returning and I live 5 mins from this store. I’d rather travel to the Villa Park discount store than return here! The public is how you keep your business going, show more respect and gratitude by treating EVERYONE...

Honestly, one of the best stores I’ve been to! The place is well-organized, and the staff are super respectful and kind. I bought a few items and they were all great quality at amazing prices! You really feel like you're getting a good deal with peace of mind.
