Filthy & disrespectful
I have been to this coffee shop at least six times. At least three of those times I found the tables dirty and sticky. The first time, I cleaned it myself and went about my business. The second time I cleaned it, and then said something to the staff member. This third time today, I arrived at 8am -right when they open. The floor had trash on it and the two small tables had jelly(?) and other sticky stuff on them. I said something to the (same) staff member. They said they remembered the last time and began arguing with me how I was wrong and Iām the only one who complains. Not once did they acknowledge that the tables were filthy. They gave me a free drink (to shut me up I figure). Thanks for the free drink, but that doesnāt respect my exact concern. I wanted my concern treated respectfully. When I asked them when the owner would be there, they had no answer. Iāve met the owner, Cory is nice, but the store is neglected and dirty, and the staff is dismissive and argumentative of customer concerns. Dismissiveness...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is such a little gem! Got to town a little early on a family trip to Cincinnati/Newport and was greeted by amazing smells of quality roasted coffee. We went on Friday and then had to go back Saturday with family 1) bc it was so good 2) bc we needed to take beans home of course! And 3) bc Beruk was so welcoming and friendly! He was even able to share some local brunch spots to try Sunday morning.
We tried 3 separate pour overs between my husband and I, and they were all complex and just so refreshing. My personal favorite was the Rwanda - it was fruity, vanilla-y and had a nice kick. I also had a half caf americano and it was so full-bodied, I didnt even noticed it wasn't full caf! Their mother company is in Tampa, so I'm going to make it a mission to make it to that one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEverything about this location is amazing. We stumbled into this spot after waiting for an AirBnb entry and I can say it is one of the best finds we've had! Beruk was a joy from the moment we walked in. He was pleasant and patient as he explained the various beans they had and drinks they made. Extreme diligence was seen in how the coffee was made at every step ensuring a quality cup of coffee given to the customer. Each drink and roast hit all the flavor notes perfectly. Hearing the story of how the spot opened in Cininnati was also a joy to hear. We had to leave with a bag of beans. I loved both of their anaerobic blends, and two my wife had were also spectacular.
We now have a favorite coffee spot for when we visit Newport. We'll be back every...
