They keep closing this down so people can't review it, but since you can't say anything negative about the group on FB, or any restaurant, this is about the only true representation of the whole operation. Chowdown started off as a decent place to get honest reviews on local restaurants. After the group blew up and the owners realized they could monetize all the work everyone but them was doing to make the group popular, they absolutely wiped out any negative reviews, period. You can no longer speak honestly about a bad experience at a restaurant, because it might hurt the income the owners are making off of everyone's reviews they get for free. We all know there are plenty of terrible places out there to eat, but you definitely won't find that on Chowdown. Even well known places people should avoid, only get positive reviews on this site. It is a shame this is how all popular groups end up, greedy admins completely change the structure when there is money in it for them, and ignorant users that don't realize all the work they are doing, going to places, spending their own money to try them, are only making the founders...
