This is an action filled glossy taproom bar/restaurant at the northern tip of Over The Rhine in downtown Cincinnati. They only have a small parking lot, and it's tough to find good street parking, so arrive a little early to find space in their lot. Inside it's a very large establishment. It's got a masculine, old-timey lumberjack feel to it. Lots of FC Cincinnati soccer paraphernalia around. Huge, high gloss, long natural wood Oktoberfest-style tables. Huge, tall, divided light, turn of the century industrial windows. Cool, tasteful, neon lighting. Huge beautiful bar. You can see, but not smell, the vats of brewing beer fermenting in the tap room section behind a dividing glass wall. Lots of historic Cincinnati artifacts -- like big bells and canoes hanging from the ceiling giving the place an interesting historic, old time 1920 Cincinnati vibe. Lots of young people around standing, talking, laughing, sitting at tables, playing games. You can order drinks quickly and easily at the bar, which has multiple, attentive bartenders, and open a credit card tab if you like. Or have a seat at one of the tables and a waiter will come take your order from the menu. There's an extensive food menu with quite delicious options- much better than the typical bar food. My two sons both ordered the meatball sub which they said was delicious. I had the Reuben Sandwich for lunch okay a few months ago, and it was delicious. Last night, I had the hummus Greek gyro vegetarian option which was very good. I also tried a gin and tonic flight which was fun. My sons loved the wide beer selection.

If you're looking for a fun atmosphere to have a drink with some friends or family and also enjoy some delicious food in a loud, exciting, man cave type environment, try...

I’d like to describe the team at Northern Row. On May 19, 2020 I made a visit to Northern Row to pick up an order of bottles of hand sanitizer. They weren’t open for traditional business so I checked in at the tent outside to wait for them to bring my order to me. I struck up a conversation with the head brewmaster and mentioned I was buying the bottles of hand sanitizer for my niece’s June 26 wedding. What was supposed to be a 150 person wedding turned into 21 people due to COVID-19 and the restrictions on size of gatherings. I thought it was fitting to have a bottle of hand sanitizer for every guest. I mentioned that I would be removing their label and creating a label specific to the bride and groom. The brewmaster said that he didn’t want me to go to the trouble of having to remove the labels only to replace with my own and said he would go inside to intercept my order and make sure I got plain bottles with no label. I was grateful! Next thing I know, the owner David Berger came out and invited me in and said he’d design a custom label right then and there for me since he was told of this special occasion. My labels were printed on the spot and affixed to my bottles. I walked out with the final product! They are a great group of people and the space inside is amazing. I was so impressed with their treatment of me and I look forward to coming back to visit to actually drink the alcohol next time! Thank you David Berger and team! By the way, the hand sanitizer was a hit! Thanks...

My husband and I traveled to this brewery and distillery to pick up the latest Cincinnati gin. There is parking out in front but we arrived at 4:30 and it was already full even though the business just opened at 4:00 p.m. We did get the last spot in the paid lot next door. The space is very open and is very industrial as it was originally in some sort of manufacturing business. There are exposed beams and furniture crafted from old manufacturing parts. We sat at the bar which was huge and ordered some cocktails featuring The Gin that we were going to be purchasing. Our bartender, Breslin, was very friendly and helpful. She allowed us to have a taste of the Gin before deciding on our cocktails. I ordered the Cincinnati Collins which was very refreshing with the grapefruit and had a nice addition of a lavender bitters which they make in house. My husband had a gin and tonic and enjoyed his cocktail as well. We did have an order of baba ganoush to go along with our cocktails. I was really surprised at how busy this brewery was considering the early hour that we were visiting. I don't know that I would go out of my way to visit again as it was difficult to park. Their outdoor patio is in the parking lot and even though they tried to make it look nice it was not the best atmosphere for...

Bites & Brews in a Vintage Vibe We stopped by for drinks and left impressed with the food. The Chicken Pot Pie and the Burnt Ends Melt with tots hit the spot, paired with three beers and a cocktail for a total of $78.69. The Breakdown: Value (4/5): Portions were satisfying for the price. Taste (4/5): Well-prepared and flavorful dishes, though the tots missed the mark. Variety (3/5): A compact menu with just enough to please most diners. Uniqueness (3/5): The offerings didn’t stand out, but they delivered on quality. Service (5/5): Friendly, attentive staff elevated the experience. Atmosphere (4/5): A spacious, vintage-industrial setting with plenty of character. Bottom line: Come for the drinks, stay for the surprisingly solid food and warm service. Perfect for a casual night out in a unique space!
