First time visitors to the Pub! We were doing some work in the area and got done early enough to stop by and get meal and a beer. We always like to eat local and we are definitely happy to have eaten here! Saturday afternoon and walked in to a table by the bar. We looked around and found quite a variety of people inside. One table has Mon, dad, and the kids. Next table had several college age girls. Three groups of folks at the bar, and everyone was having a great time! We were greeted by one of the servers quickly and ordered up the pretzel bites appetizer and a couple of beers. Nice selection of beer and whiskey BTW. Food was brought out hot and we ordered lunch. The pretzel bites were hot and the dip was tasty. My son ordered The Burger with fries and I had The Pub Burger which was the weekend special. Food came out in good time right after we finished the appetizer. The fries were hot, plentiful, and cooked perfectly. The burgers were awesome! They were so good we asked for the cook to come out so we could give him some props! I have never done that before and he thought he was in trouble. We walked out full and our bellies were happy! This place is worth going a little bit out of your way to visit. When we are near we will definitely return! Kudos...
Read moreExtremely rude staff. Published weekday hours say they're open until midnight, that's the only reason we stopped in here at 9:52PM on a Wednesday. But when we sat down, the waitstaff refused to serve us and told us we'd have to go to the bar, even though they were serving other customers at their table. Not only did she tell us we'd have to go to the bar, but she acted like we were out of line for stopping her to ask for service. So we grabbed drinks at the bar and sat for about 45 minutes before going back one last drink. No one was at bar, all staff were in shutdown mode running around cleaning up, hanging chairs and being really loud commenting about how it was time to close as if to give us the hint to leave. Made eye contact several times with bartender several times while holding an empty glass and she just ignored me. So we just left. This was well over an hour before closing time.
Just moved back to Cincinnati after 8 years, so we were really surprised to be treated so poorly at an establishment that we used to frequent and enjoy.
Excuse me for being a paying...
Read moreCame during Cincy burger week, the wait wasn't bad for how busy it was and the burger was good. The service however truly left something to be desired. No one greeted us at the door or explained that it was self seating. I stopped a server to inquire and after claiming a table that someone left we had to wait 10 mins for the table to actually be cleaned. After cleaning the table our server ignored us for another 10 mins until she finally sent another server to take our order. It was only after she saw that our bill included drinks sides and appetizers that she superficially came by to 'check on us'. From then on she ws more present but having worked in the restaurant industry for many years I knew what had happened. To show our displeasure the girl who abandoned us got a $2 tip and the server who take carw of us got $10 which was about 30% of our bill. They probably treat their regulars well but clearly the stereotype of small bars in non-diverse areas is a...
