I want to preface this review by saying that I usually love CM. I’ve been a long time and avid supporter and shopper here at this location. They always has great deals and the sweetest associates!

However, my most recent experience was pretty awful… On Wednesday Jan 29, I purchased what I thought would be a cute grey skirt using a direct link that they posted on their story and it came up as “green sweatpants” I figured hmm… must be a typo on their end. I proceeded to purchase anyway. I send them a DM on Instagram asking hey, I noticed this error. Which product did I buy? I then receive an email saying “product doesn’t match name?” They then ask me if I still want the green sweatpants since that was the product I’d actually purchased. I was a bit disappointed but asked to see what they looked like via a DM on Instagram. They sent me a photo and I then relented and said sure those are cute too, no problem, stuff happens!

Fast forward to Friday, Jan 31 I go to the store to pick up my item (which is about 30 ish minutes one way give or take from where I am located). They can’t locate the sweatpants… After calling a manager who claimed she wasn’t there when the situation went down and looking everywhere, they said they’d continue to look and call me.

Now it’s Monday Feb 2 and they just told me that there was a listing mix up with the skirt AND the sweatpants and that they’d already sold but it was a mistake on their end. What? How did they send me a photo of the pants then? I don’t really understand… The person via DM then said so sorry here’s a refund and that was it… needless to say I’m left still feeling annoyed and unhappy about all of it. Maybe 6 years ago, this became my go-to for clothing. I used to think this was a place that helped you learn how to dress, saw the racks outside and thought they must be changing inventory, then found it is a clothing store!!! It was my saving grace when my workout program worked and I was dropping sizes like crazy. They purchase clothes from people and give them cash on the spot, and what cannot be purchased, they donate to charity and provide you with the tax documents. Because they buy the clothes, they are discriminating on what they purchase. They have a wide selection of Lululemon, Patagonia, Free People, Madewell, luxury such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Yves Saint Lauren, Gucci, and also brands such as Old Navy and Altrd State. They are all in good repair and current style. They also have a ton of items coming in every day, so it's a new store every tome you come in. For as busy as they are, the store is very clean! The staff is friendly and if you require assistance and they don't see you, just ask. They will happily drop whatever they are working on to assist you. Join their loyalty program- you don't get tons of emails, but the ones you get have coupons and you gets additional for your birthday and after accumulating a number of points. I’m obviously not their target customer. I brought in a bag of great clothes that were much like the clothes I would sell to shops in Chicago, that usually bought most of my stuff. Anthropologie, Unique vintage, Urban Outfitters etc. I always prefer to shop second hand and wanted to support a shop that keeps clothes out of landfills. But…

They claimed they didn’t take my items because they were stained. Why would I bring them stained clothes?! I used to be a buyer and I know better. So I’d never been in before; I wasn’t sure what they’d be interested in. Once in there and saw all the cheap fast fashion clothing, maybe my items wouldn’t be a fit. When I mentioned that there were brand new/never worn items obviously not stained. They said they just didn’t fit the trends. But what did they buy? A 10 year old shirt from Urban Outfitters.
